Hello all. I'm Dunbar and I'm in the foothills of the Eastern US. I really like smoking sativa-ey buds so that's what i'll be working with. I will be doing my first grow this summer; nothing too serious but I hope to produce enough bud to keep me happy through the winter time. I'll be able to begin growing on May 10 and have to wrap it up within the first 2 weeks of August. I think the auto's I have chosen will be fine in that time frame. Here's an overview of everything I've planned:
Seeds: (3) Cream of The Crop: Cropical Fruit
And Attitude is sending me a freebie COTC: Cash Crop.
Starting them out for about 2 weeks in a shed under several 42 watt 5100k cfl's. I have a cooler with a reflective inside I think will work perfectly to contain the babies. I will have to use slug prevention as they are very prominent during the summer here. Sitting the cooler onto of roofing shingles sounds ample to me. They will be born in party cups with 1/3 peat moss, 1/3 potting soil, 1/3 perlite. The shed is vented via box fan on the rear window. I am very tempted to grow them in this shed but I need to work with something that requires less maintenance.
After they look good n' hardy they will be moved in the center of a briar patch bordering a soybean field with ample East-West space for sunlight. In about a 5 gal.-sized hole will be 1/3 manure, 1/3 perlite, 1/3 potting mix. Summer weather should bring enough rain but if not, I'll be hauling some water around.
I'll post updates as I go
