How'd all..started my first grow 3 weeks ago.Things look good to me but I'm just newbee..I'm running 10 43 watt CFL's with a 5000k on 20/4 light. This morning I noticed the first signs of flowering.Should I mix in some 2700k and if so how many.
I usually transition to 2700K about the same time I'm transitioning to flowering nutes, typically when vertical growth is slowing down which I find is about 4-5 weeks after germination (strain dependent.) Although I don't think it makes much of a difference (but do it anyway), I switch over my eight CFLs over a period of 4-5 days.
You might want to stop by and say hello over in Introductions. Also, as a first time grower you might want to start a grow journal. This forum is great for first timers; so many helpful knowledgeable people ...
Selfishly, I'm interested in hearing about your grow space. If you have a small space, ten 43 watters can be a real challenge heatwise.
My grow are is a 4x4x7 foot tent.Fan in with fresh air and filtered fan out.Its been running about 80 degs F and humimty is about 55 to 60.I'm holding the lights about 6 inches above. Now I should add I also have a few photo plants in there also. Not sure of the stain but they are about 5 weeks old. two of them are showing to be gals but the others are not sharing their sex yet..They all are in Happy Frog and I'm using the Fox Farm nutes and Feeding schedule..I have another tent in the mail as i write so I can start a flowering room the photo's are getting to be about 30 inches now and I want to change their light schedule.
Hi HD, see you found your way here from introductions, that's great. As Bayes said best to wait until vertical growth has slowed down to switch to the bloom lights and make the switch to bloom nutes at the same time. Pictures would be a big help so folks can see what is going on. Happy growing
