Mephisto Genetics First journal! strainapalooza!

My goal in this run was to let the plants shape themselves naturally. Terrible idea. But it’s been cool to see the results with each strain. The Hbss went into flower so fast I didn’t feel comfortable supercropping her, though I did buy all new cob lighting to accommodate my situation.

I love 2 cobs per flowering plant right now. When I can and it makes sense. On plants with a dominant cola. I put one on each side of the center cola. That gets light to the side branches and the cola. There are many times if not all the time when my autocobs are never directly over the center of a plant. And sometimes I tilt them at an angle too.

Side note- just checked on cdlc and gold glue which are drying in paper bags... still that disgusting hay smell!!!!!! I hate it so so very much. I tried this method because hanging dry has always yielded that gd hay smell. Any help would be so appreciated

Damn. I was planning to try that too after reading so many folks on AFN swearing by it. I hate thy god damn hay smell :face:

The hay smell goes away after drying down properly (55-62 % RH in the jar) and in the jars for a few days IME.

There is a thread on the guides and tutorials board that I just came across.

Long story short, they say hang your plant right after the cut and let it dry for 10 or so days and then dry trim it.

I'm sick of the hay/grass smell and how long it takes to cure to get rid of the smell and get some dank going on. It doesn't seem natural to me. I'm chopping 3 plants right away and I'm going to hang them and then dry trim and see if that is better.

I’ve had good luck with trimming then straight into paper bags never seem to lose the smell or really change from chop. It just seems to get better. Even taste pretty good right out of the paper bag. I used to hang dry then trim and that way would lose its smell then take a while to get it back in jars with the cure

Wow. So many different experiences with drying and curing. I'm along for the ride though. I am going to try what will be my 4th method.

I can tell you now from experience - that will just extend your dry time and will definelty smell like grass/shit. Ultimately I’m not sure il find a way to bipass the grass smell
