Hey Everyone..thank you for welcoming me to your community.

Looking at starting my first grow. Im very limited on space and I have a small budget. I had planned on building my own box and buyin the suppiles and I was up to like $350 plus or minus..

I have a 4X4X7 closet that I can use. Two of the walls are outside walls, so my thought was I could drill out and be able to vent to outside and bring in fresh air. And I live in an Apartment, top floor, so sleath is somewhat important.

Like I said I was plannin on building a box for the closet. The box would be limited to 4'x4'x2'deep with a 400w hps/mh light. 2 100cfm fans.

Heat would prob be a problem for the box that size...so I could rethink the lights or maybe go with a 36x36x63 tent??

The cost of the tent would be close to equal what I would spend on wood and screws and mylar. But I dont know that much at all about how the tent works..

I wanna go Hydro. Was looking at this 18 gal dwc hydroponic system. It includes the following:

1) 18 GALLON RESERVOIR
6) 3" or 3.75" NET POTS Your Choice
1.5 LB. HYDROTON ROCKS
6) 1.5" GRODAN ROCKWOOL CUBES/
35 GALLON RATED AIR PUMP ECO AIR 1 SUPREME OR ECO AIR 2 PLUS
2) MEDIUM ROUND AIR STONES/OR REGULAR AIR STONE OR AIR DIFFUSER 2,', 3' OR 4' ECO PLUS
4' AIR LINE W/ CONNECTORS
1 SITE GLASS (BLUE) TO EASY CHECK YOUR WATER LEVEL
PH TESTER W/ COLOR CHART

with Maxi Grow Nuks..Grow and Bloom

Just looks more easier to me, than doing the indivdual buckets. But Im open to suggestions.

I would like to start with at least 6 plants..3 Pineapple Kush and 3 Sour Diesel.

My goal would be to yield 3oz per plant...??

So Like I said I am limited on space and I have about $450 budget (including seeds). I might be able to do more, but then Ill have to start selling off my gf! lol

I am open to suggestion..

Thank you...Joey

I don't know anything about hydro, so I can't advise there, but I CAN advise that you not drill holes through a wall that leads to exterior...especially on the top floor. Stealth is gone if neighbors complain of water damage due to the holes you drill. unplanned or improper modifications like that to an exterior wall can lead to a LOT of damage. You may (in conjunction with that) want to think about LEDs...cuts the heat down and can therefore rely on "local" ventilation and less of it. You are also going to be able to use more available vertical space (dependent of the power of the LED) for growing.

6 plants for a 4x4x2 is over-optimistic
3 zips per plant for your first grow is over-optimistic

My advice there would be to focus on growing well and dead center in the middle of the lane as you can. Worrying about yields the first go around is going to push you into making rash or rushed decisions, which will snowball...the anxiety of trying to get every little gram out of the plant just kills the ability to be patient and not over-react to issues.

You may also want to budget in some sort of CO2 supplementation.

Just my 2 cents.

Good Luck!

Yeah sounds that way...I figured as much, which is why I posted here. Thanks for all the feedback..
