Having recently forsworn nutrient-rich bagged potting soil after a year of burning plants (there have been some successes),
I've decided to go the route of peat moss, compost, vermiculite and perlite, with Biobizz and Biogrow as the nutrients.

All of a sudden I'm scared out of my wits.

In this last year of growing (my 1st!) I've never had to feed a plant due to the rich soil I was using. as a result I have a lot of questions, despite research... I understand how to mix, the rest is a mystery.

1. When feeding, do I give the plant the same amount of water with nutrients I would use if just watering?

2. Can I mix bloom and grow together or best keep them separated?

3. My feeding schedule calls for a second week feeding to my seedlings-do I keep these very light due to the plants small size? How do I know if a seedling needs more grow nutrients before It's too late?

The only other supplement I plan on introducing would be a Cal/Mag feeding
around weeks 3, 5 and 7.

4. If I just fed the plant and then later in the week watered it and the soil is still wet come next feeding time, do I feed it again or wait?

5. The biobizz/grow bottles say "safe to use" with every watering-is it? Should I? Seems to run contrary to what I've heard and read.

6. How many feedings in a month might be considered normal? 1X per week is what I had in mind.

Any and all advice you may consider important, please send it to this "new" grower. Many thanks, regards to all.

Fertilizers And Soil

So hot soil. Wait two or three weeks before first feed. When you feed use the same amount of water as always. Always start light on the nutes and build upward in strength. Yes you can over lap grow and bloom nutes, just follow how the bottle tells you. Feed every water, no. Remember your growing autos and they don't like strong nutes, most the time but like any thing every plant will be different. Just relax light one up and remember this is FUN! Hope this helps.

Thanks guys, appreciate your help.

I was in Fertilizers and Soil; there's a lot there to chew on. Lots of methods, lots of jargon I dinna ken.

Everyone has their favorite method... at this point I'd like to learn about liquid feeding in a 3 gal pot using just the biobizz Grow and Bloom.

I had planned on 2ml/gal to be safe, increasing that to 4ml as time passes. Frequency of feeding, quantity of feeding, I'm shaky on. If I let the soil get dry am I not starving the plant?
If i water the plant heavily, isn't it difficult to feed it properly when the schedule calls for it? And visa-versa?

Thanks guys, appreciate your help.

Youll get it figured out soon, there are a lot of good soil guys here to help theyll be stopping in to help. Have you ask any of the guys in the soil section, you might give that a try also.:tiphat:
