Hey guys so this is going to be my first time growing cannabis but I have grown other vegetables, fruits and other plants. My wife and I live in an usual setup and I feel that going auto would be easier for my current setup. Previously we were in LA and right now we have been living in the Coachella Valley for the last couple years and for those that don't know during the months of June to August its probably an average of 105 so you can say it gets a little warm. We also live in a 5th wheel trailer on family ranch that is a few acres (the property is mostly sand with a a couple greenhouse structures for storage and office trailers). Its been an adjustment transitioning to living in this temperature difference and the limitations that we currently have....ie. lighting. space, cooling, etc.

So with that being said I was planning on doing photoperiod however we are pretty limited on space where are even for a tent however we are going to have a nice sized greenhouse for use to grow veggies and fruits and of some cannabis :) The green house is going to be a decent size about 100 ft x 15ft. There isn't going to be any electrical hookups in there so I'm not going to be able to hang lights or be able to manage humidity, temperature, etc...at least not at the moment. I know it may not be the best option to do but thats going to be the best I can do for now. I'm curious what strains would anyone recommend that would be the best to survive like this. I'm planning on planting when its cooler (Feb-May & Sept-December).

Any help/advice would be great!

Hey Marcus :toke:
It sounds like you have your work cut out for you with those temperatures, but nature will always find a way! :greenthumb:

According to Royal Queen Seeds, any of these should be happy with the 105 temps

https://www.royalqueenseeds.com/blog-our-top-5-cannabis-strains-for-warmer-climates-n218

And every site I looked at about growing in these "warmer" temps are all saying Northern Lights and Amnesia, and another common theme is SE Asian strains, and anything that is from the sub-tropics to equatorial zone (think Hawaiian, Central/South American, etc, strains).

So there should be plenty choices for you, going by what I see anyway, your friendly seed bank should be able to advise you.

I live in a 5th wheel an grow but also have some experiences with greenhouse an outdoor growing an your area has potential to be a dream farm but with outdoor or greenhouse growing strainselection is the most important aspect finding something that finishes on time an is mold an mildew free is crucial. I will be glad to help with specific questions I also can give you a wide range of organic knowledge but most aspects of chemical fertilizers I do not understand.

Hi Marcus, I am very new to the scene also - had lots of experience with veggies but I can say this has been quite a bit different, the plants are very very active and grow inches in day's in the right conditions.

I live in the central valley, similar conditions and its so very dry outside that auto's are an OK choice for summer, a friend of mine grows here in the summer and his veg cycle was super long (May - August) since we have very long days but ended up with a little over 80 Oz from one plant, it was massive and he let it get too big, but the Auto would have stopped growing in July I think it would have been better controlled and had more solid buds.

So if your concerned about heat - he grew that this last summer we had averages were 96 and plenty of 100+ it did pretty good, just have a good system for water setup, if they dry out it can become a problem the soil temp will rise as it dry's out more.

Just my 2 cent's - I am new also, so my experience may differ.
