Hey all; I'm a newbie at this agriculture business. Starting up a stealth growbox and modeling it after FD's comprehensive guide. I'm excited about joining up here, as it looks like Autoflowers are really ideal for getting good yields in tight spaces with stealth requirements.

I'll have a thread/journal soon (once the rest of my parts come in) detailing my stealth box, and my first grow. I welcome advice and criticisms of all kinds. I know I'm bound to make some mistakes along the way, so thanks in advance for help, feedback, support, and props!

Not sure what else to say here, but ask/prod away if there's anything I missed or anything you'd like to know!

Lots of folks here to help and good number of Microgrowers.
There are some very cool, ultra-compact grows going on right now.

One guy has a PC tower grow that has a webcam in it so he can check it
out w/o even opening the case. Plays the plants music in there and everything

To me, it seems the primary factors are going to be:

1: Heat
2: Air Transfer
3: Smell

What size of a box are we talking here?

Hey all, thanks for the warm welcome!

The box is a nice, big tower (22"x20"x9"). I was modeling it after the Dealzer cash crop 4.0. I didn't want something as overt as a brand new cabinet or the like (nobody asks to see inside a new computer). This thing is only a couple inches off any dimension from being the same as the 2 foot model of their Cash Crop 4.0; I wanted something that could expand into a decent sized hydro system if I wanted at some point. They claim to get six hydro plants out of the same base, but I'm starting in soil (and might stay there, as hydro is a little too complex for me at this point). I think 3 plants might be as big as I can get.

My goal is to use FD's tips and soil mix and tea (along with LST) to get some good yields out of the smaller pots and lower space. I got LEDs and a ceramic terrarium lamp with a temp controller to maximize space and ensure controllable heat. I'm thinking a carbon filter, plus either ona gel or ozium inside the box; not sure which but I'm not taking chances on odor. I'm planning on buying all feminized auto seeds, but I might mix it up once I'm more comfortable with growing (want my first run to be as bountiful as possible).

Ideally, I'd like to be growing in stages, 3 plants each 4 weeks apart so every month another harvest comes in. When I have a decent stockpile I'll try to get 2 females and a male, just so I can replenish seeds without having to constantly buy from the banks (but that's looking a long way ahead!) For now I've got everything but the mylar, so once that's here I'll build the box. Next will be mixing the soil, and lastly getting the seeds. Patience is the name of the game, isn't it?

Welcome and you will find fd's guide very useful as that is what I follow almost like a bible, he has the best tips on growing in small places, as there is other growers on here who also are amazing but they dont have the constraints of size some people do, that's where FD comes in and helps us little grows lol, one thing to keep In mind with his tips, the soil mix he has I would let it sit outside for at least a week as I just went and bought everything and blended it in let it sit overnight like he said used it next day and burnt my plants, after the soil stayed for a week or two I used it again, and it didn't burn but make my ladies grow big.
