This grow (my 3rd) I decided to top a couple and try LST...
Fast Buds Star Dawg... I topped each and LST on one, left the other alone...
Would fimming have been better...? Maybe cut at a different node...
They didn't grow very tall and I'm not sure what else I could have done different after I cut the main stem (above 4th node)
Most of the tips are from being outside the last 9 days and temps in the 90's...
5th node...? Maybe they don't get that tall to begin with...

Hello @KCinKC I think they look great.
While fimming increases growth node points as opposed to doubling your existing node point ratio, it really depends what you want to achieve with the topping/fimming/tying (or LST)
The goal is to make a canopy that is horizontally flat, there by giving you even light distribution to all bud sites.
With auto flowers, (my assumption here that they are autos) that is still the primary goal, but a much reduced window in which to achieve it.
Add apical dominance to the mix and lateral growth: you have tools to get a whopping increase in quantity and quality of your final flowers.
I personally try to get 2 toppings and shape like a mainline because it provides a natural flat canopy and leaves a cavity for light to bounce around inside

So on your previous 2 grows did you just let them 'Christmas tree'?

Yes, all I grow are autoflowers...
I also forgot to add photos of the "other one", most are of the same plant...

First grow I had AutoPot "double pots" so that grow was screwed from the start...
2 Cream Cookies = 5 oz total
2 Tangie = 7 oz total...

Second grow I had AutoPot single pots and did much better...
2 Cream Cookies = 5 oz (one stunted/ less than 1oz)
2 Green Crack = 17 oz (12 oz and 5 oz)...
The GC's grew completely different and I let them both go (wild)...

I think my goal was to have a more compact plant with less popcorn buds with a decent yield and to just see what would happen...
It looks like I'll come out with 2oz each which isn't that much...

It wasn't until a month in to this 3rd grow that I finally got my humidity in order with an InkBird power strip...
I was running in the low 30's which I assume isn't great for starting plants...
Finally I have all the pieces to give them (and me) the best chance for success...

There is one little problem, last night I confirmed I have spider mites...
Saw the little bastards walking a tightrope from one of my COB's...
Since I am 6 weeks flowering I don't think I can spray anything so I plan to keep wiping leaves and keep the numbers down as long as I can and see if I can make it to harvest...

I found my first grow photos, Cream Cookies in the front Tangie in the back...
The one Tangie did pretty good at the expense of the Cookie paired up with it...
That's 2 weeks before harvest...

I still have these 3 at day 55 so I'm hoping I they can finish up OK...

G-14 / Green Crack / Cream Cookies
I clipped (probably too many) leaves off the G-14 but it seems ok...

Results are in... Both plants were the similar size... I topped both and trained one...
The one I trained yielded 30% more with no meaningless buds and easier to trim...
Sorry no photos of the "slacker" plant...
