Heat wave gave 2 of the girls some stress. Heat index was 108, but they will bounce back. Each got 10 gallons water and a little feed. The blueberry in full sun responded well amd the buds filled up. She got 5 gallons with just aminos and mammoth P. Its funny cause shes in a spot with worse soil, drsinage and way higher than the water table.
I'll stop by this weekend with more feed and a checkup.

Well it seems these girls have not recovered. I can't seem to make sense of it. I've had heat stressed plants before and they always bounce back over night. My other plant in direct sunlight is fine though. I gave them some water and a feed as they look hungry.
I would love to hear some input on this.

It's official the 2 biggest girls are dead. I've never had anything like this happen. I can't imagine this was from heat stress. It's possible they were poisoned I suppose but that makes little sense.
Blueberry cheese is growing strong and is smelling like berries now. I'll keep updating this with that girl and some in the fields.

The plants certainly look heat/sun stressed and dehydrated. That's almost certainly the ultimate cause (or result) of death. In tems of the root cause, you'll never know. There could have been some other initial problem(s), stress, nute imbalance, insects, etc. that made them more susceptible to heat damage. Was the soil dried out, which could have been the root cause?

Also, I presume that large plants have more problems with extreme heat, have to move a lot more water up the stem and longer distances just to keep from getting too hot (with cooling from transpiration) vs. smaller plants?

Well shoot, that stinks. They were really looking great too. I'd bet on lack of water and just plain too much heat to handle.

I guess their size does make sense. They soil wasn't dry and cracked but it could have been more moist. 2 days with a heat index of 107 plus did it I'm sure and a week and nearly 100 plus. It's odd the blueberry cheese is fine but it gets direct light nearly all day and the native soil is not nearly as good. It also has a 50 gallon hole with quality soil in it.
The fact of the matter is those girls were in stretch when that hit so all that energy wasn't in the right place.
It's ok ill get a good bit of the cheese and my other spots.

Corn griw is doing quite well. They all got fed today. Roughly 5 gallons per plant. Let me tell you. It's a bitch carrying 20 gallons 1/4 mile to the 4 big ones in the back . Once again videos won't load.

The corn is about to be harvested in the next few weeks so these girls better hurry the hell up and fill out. I put plenty of steaks in today. Had a few broken branches already.

Clipped some buds of a damaged branch of the blueberry cheese in my woods grow. Looking pretty good for some premie stuff. This one is going to fill out reeeeeeeal nice
