Lew, the nute's self-buffering is in reference to the solution it makes, but not the soil/medium that it's in,.. it can help some, but it's not the end of pH management I'm afraid, especially in soil, soilless mediums, or coco ...the plant roots, microbes, other nutrients/supplements all are sources of input and change,... thanks for the better pics! I see some tip clawing--older symptoms? The yellowing tips on mostly upper growth looks a lot like Zn defc., and very likely just a plain lack-of type defc., however, nute burn can present in a similar manner... Zn is locked out only under very alkaline conditions, or P toxicity (never seen it),...let's see what your soil pH is, but a micronutrient supplement might be in order,...
