I have a plant in a 20L bubble bucket that holds 14L of nute solution below the mesh pot and is ready to harvest.
It drinks about 3.5 to 4 L per day now, but how do you flush a hydro plant?
Just filling the bucket with plain water once means that the plant will drink it up in about 3-4 days, but is that the same as flushing?
Should I use a flushing agent such as canna flush in the plain water?

Personally, I think "flushing agents" are just one more thing you don't need. IMO just give her plain water. I've read varing times frames, from 3-4 days to a week. My plan is to flush for a week, that way the plant most likely consumes whatever nutrients are left within her cells.

All depends how connoisseur you are dude ! ... a flush agent will clean your buds better ,make them healthier & taste better / cleaner but is not necessarily needed & water is fine ,im with pop & usually dont bother lol .A week to 10 days is plenty of time to cleanse in hydro .No need to PH the water either :Sharing One:grats on the harvest Joe:peace:

I'm of the mind that a lot of stuff being sold as good for your plants is like fishing lures,. Fishing lures are brightly colored to catch fishermen....lol!

good analogy but not exactly right mate lol ,yes it could be seen as a gimmick to the hobby home grower ...but they work well for what they are & a lot of commercial hydro growers especially like them as they know there plants have been swimming in synthetic fertilizers & don't want any in there final product , weed is medicine for a lot of people who definitely don't want to be inhaling or ingesting chemicals .In fact ive just convinced myself to throw some canna flush in the res for the last week in the interests of quality bud !

You can just make two more reservoir changes or so and you'll be good.. i personally do a ten or more flush on my hydro system but I'm more of micro hydro..

Thanks, but my tap water is pH 7.7. Is it safe to use it for the flush? I thought that you should pH the water to around 5.8.
I understand that regular pH down will add phosphorus or nitrogen, so is that worse at the flushing stage?
If I use lemon juice to pH the water, would that create any problems?

My tap water is so bad (pH 7.7/ec0.7/ppm375) that I was wondering whether it was worthwhile to buy a few gallons of distilled water for the final bucket flushes?

I'd buy some RO or Distilled water for the flush, I'm going to move my netpot to a 5 gallon bucket and use distilled water. With the rootball most people have your only going to be able to put maybe 3 gallons in at one time, so it would be worth the price if you use 12 gallons or so of distilled water.

Does she need the water PH'd if theres no feed in it to uptake ? seems pointless putting in the up or down if she will be using whats left in her leaves :dunno::Sharing One:

Pop ,RO would be good to flush with

Lol...You're the expert. Would the sudden change of pH of the plain water shock the plant or does pH only affect nute lockouts/uptake?
Would using something like lemon juice to lower the pH be a better option?
