What's up guys? I'm new grower looking to get into autos. Grew a nirvana bubblicous a year ago that amounted to about 4 grams, no nutes, a single cfl, and straight tap water. Now I'm looking to increase my yields and growth by doing it the right way. So with that said this leads to my topic. I've been doing my research and I can't find the answers I am looking for. So about the fox farm trio I've seen growers all over the web saying use 1/4 to 1/2 the strength some even saying 1/6 of what the schedule says. Now, since the us is the only place who hasn't switched to the metric system would it be easier to do it that way? For example, the schedule says 2tsp of big bloom. Now with a gram scale and a little bit of math I get that 2 tsp would equal 10 grams. Going by that, 1/4 strength would be 2.5 grams, 1/2 strength would be 5 grams. I hope this makes sense and someone with knowledge could give me some insight or how they have done it. Thanks.

I've done a lot of growing with the fox farms trio. I'd say half strength every other feeding, or once a week. Once you have complete leafs or secondary stems from between the nodes 3/4 strenght should work. Every strainis different. Make sure you have a ph meter and adjust your water. Best of luck!

Thanks man. I appreciate your insight, so when you mix then you do so in a gallon. Since I'm only going to be growing one plant it clearly isn't going to take the entire gallon. I water just enough to get some run off then I just trash the remaining water? Is it possible to scale down the entire solution to fit my needs? That would just be making everything more difficult though.

I would suggest not feeding until they are around 2-3 weeks old. Don't want to over do a sprout. When its time to feed scale back amout used to match the amout of water your using. So for 1 liter of water you'd use 1/4 of what you'd use for a gallon. So if their telling you to use 3 tbs for a gallon, first take half that amount because your growing young autos, 1&1/2 tbs, or 7&1/2 ml. Then for one liter you'd use 1/4 of that, so roughly 2 ml.

Gotcha, thanks brotha. Makes sense now.

Just to clarify, what are the names of the products you're referring to?

Juust convert to milliters, quick and easy for amounts. I echo what nam said about keeping an eye on PH. Fox Farm drops PH alot

I'm with nam up there.. Fox farms can be a bit harsh on your plants if you don't use it correctly and autos can be a bit finnacky (sp.?) ha I usually start around week 3 or 4 with the grow big, I start them off the first week at 1/4 tsp per gallon, and build up from there. 1/4 to a 1/2 to 3/4 ... I do this with all three of them .. when I start with Big bloom, and Tiger bloom I give them 1/4 and work my way up ... sometimes less is better for autos.. like everyone has said before every strain is different and your plant will tell you what they want just have to pay attention to your babies
