That idea with the cookingpot is just awesome if you dont wanna buy a heatsink

Wow that looks... Bright but a bit dangerous!
Can you give us a description of what we see in the pictures? I see a heat sink with a fan and a COB, a big ol' pot with a fan in the bottom. What are you using for a driver, COB, etc?
I like what you are doing but want to be sure you are safe!! Lots of water and stuff around a garden. I am a big DIY type and cobble together all sorts of things so I love to see what folks are conjuring up!

as long as everything is secured correctly and you know where to touch and where not then it should be safe.
another thing is, the idea of using a cookingpot as a heatsink means that the person hopefully knows that he needs to be sure on his electrical work
but yes, u r right, better safe than sorry!
That wiring should be tucked into an electrical box. I'd tape those wire nuts also. Any idea how hot the cob or heatsink is getting? I'd like to see a detailed description of the parts used and how you wired it, and how the cob is retained to the heatsink.
