Alright well here we go I have 10 7 gallon viagrow pots on the way and 5 650 gr blocks of coco was only going to do 2 or 3 pots this time around to learn on I have 4 sour crack crosses going in soil and a moby dick seed I just put in the ground on a soil grow as well

For my coco I was going to do a blue amnesia xxl and a lemon haze and see what happens

When expanding the bricks do you ph and cal mag your water from the beginning? Also about how much water does one use for 2 650 gr blocks I have some totes so I was going to fill them with phed and cal mag water and then drop the bricks in and then mix in an 8qt bag of perlite hope that should get me just enough to do 2 7 gallon pots but may go 3 bricks

This is my first time some bare with me on this and hopefully we can all learn something together :)

Also I was thinking too that to try and keep up with things between work and such can I pre mix like 5 gallons of nutes to use over the course of a couple days?

I was thinking of a Monday feed Wednesday pure water and Friday feed drying out over the weekend

Or a Monday Wednesday Friday feed and maybe pure water some point in the weekend?

However I do it can I mix up 4 or 5 gallons of water and then water from that or is it a bad idea to let nutes sit for a couple days? Maybe drop in an air stone?

cant help you with the coco bricks as i use the bagged stuff i think @Ronin uses it but with coco you should feed every watering as it has no nutes in start off at 1/4 strength and work your way up and after about 2 to 3 weeks your roots will be able to take a good watering every day and about mixing the nutes i would recommend just doing a litre or a gallon at a time as seedlings dont take much watering for the first 2 weeks ive tagged ronin hopefully he can help you with the coco bricks good luck with your grow dude:pass:

Awesome thanks for the advice later on in the grow would mixing a batch of nutes for the week be a bad idea? I'm really just worried about things either settling or my ph going nuts or any real adverse things happening

And I got my 7 gallon viagrow pots and wow these things are bad ass perfect blend of width and hight my blue amnesia xxl and lemon haze plants will be right at home in these I'm probably going to end up doing 2 of each just so I know I can get a good harvest hopefully my first coco grow goes well I think even half assed though things will go well if it's anything like my soil grow last year getting 3 ounces off 2 plants in 3 gallon smart pots and them things were full full full of roots so if I had more room for roots maybe I would have gotten a better yeald

I might do 2 of each in soil and one of each in coco just to be on the safe side

@freedom4all Sending some Grow:growing: Karma:karmacloud: your way for your first coco grow.:pass:
I use the compressed coco when using larger containers (5 gallon+)
When expanding it, I only PH my water to 5.8. No added calmag. Some folks do pre-treat their coco.
A 650g brick should expand out to approx 2.5 gallons.
After you expand the coco squeeze out as much water as possible.
A woven grocery bag works well for this.
I prefer only to use the coco that floats. The Creme.
Most of the high pith coco settles along with all the junk that is normally found in compressed bricks(plastic, sand, rocks)
I recycle that into my outdoor garden.
I can't make any recommendations regarding premixing nutrients in large quantities.
I mix fresh daily for each feeding.
There are a few other growers who run reservoirs who would have better knowledge on this.
Good luck with your grow:pass:

Damn so I should have bought the 3x 5kg bricks then huh

I had read a think that 2 650s and a bag of perlite will make 10 gallons :( sounds like with the 5 bricks I got coming I'll have just enough for 2 7 gallon pots regardless so looks like I'm be doing some soil grown again this year :p but at least 2 plants in coco good enough to learn on for sure

i mix my nutes up at 15 litres a time and just top up my res when i need to but i also use great white mycorrhizae with the idea of if your res is full of good bugs it makes it harder for the bad bugs to get a hold also try to keep my res temps at 19 Celsius with ice packs and i have an airstone running all the time have you thought about setting up a drip system
https://www.autoflower.org/index.ph...y2015-a-drip-system-for-the-rest-of-us.39812/ doesnt cost much and when dialed in saves a lot of hassle :pass:

Tis it ok if I check this one out from time to time? :nicethread:

Heck yeah bro anyone that wants to follow this is more than welcome to do so. Any advice or pointers is always welcome. I'm going to need to get more seeds soon so may be a couple more weeks before I get this rolling I already got a full tent right now but we know how we love autos and how fast the go some times so I'll probably have 3 grows in this season :)
