Harvest & Curing Freeze Drying: Perfect cure!

Search the larger threads and find out specifically what it is and how to fight it. Sulphur burners for botrytis/bud rot, I think milk is used for powdery milder on leaves.

Also finding out the size of the spores. If they are large enough or small enough thebags will either filter them or hopefully let them pass through.

Depending on how intense you want to get setting up HEPA filters to remove as much as possible. Down to 1 or 2 microns will cacth most things.

Ooops larger forums. It would suck to just concentrate the spores into your bubble. I made some QWISO with buds I seeded and once I looked at it under a 40-60x it was full of pollen. Good but harsh

Ma quiso attempt 1 was very bad lol ...
Now I know why ..
Lol. ..yeah the ozone buster is for an air sanitizer ..and odors ..i think chopping wet was my biggest issue ...

Hi Swampman
Being on the bayou sounds like it gets quite humid round your way.
A possible solution to your drying problem would be to use a small dehumidifier in your grow space.
By attaching the dehumidifyer to a a plug in humidistat and setting the humidity level to 45-55%.
keep you extraction fan on so to draw in fresh air and have your ozone on a digital timer to provide mildew busting 5 mins an hour.
keep temps between 18C-22C (64F-72F)
An additional fan will help air movement but make sure it is not directly pointed at your buds.

Though making some bubble sounds really nice :)

Peace

Yeah I still need that dehumidifier ..
I need my new pad that's what I need m..then I can have my farmright !!!
Now it's learning and leisure ...
I'm still playing ..but it ain't easy watching bud go to waste ...or mold .

was alot better with the last ladies ..so lets hope that squashed ..

@Swampman
Yeah, in your case you would definitely benefit from a Dehumificator, fans etc....
But if you stop watering 4-6 days before cutting, it should help no.
They should not be that wet?
You could throw immediately in freezer, (never did it) but will taste much more "minty" but not harsh.

Now, maybe a good solution for you, would be to try "water-curing"?
No mold, for sure
Taste is, well not there..... but you got "stealthy" smoke (mix it with tobacco cz people will be curious of the smell (not weed but different).
It is super-smooth and kind of a taste of its own.
If you need help for it, let me know...:)

Regarding mold:
It is not safe and you should not attempt to use "moldy buds", spores go through all.
The safest way to salvage is BHO (not QWISO), spores are "KILLED" for sure and for sure do not bubbleHash with moldy buds
If you still wanted to keep moldy buds, you have to "clean" them with Hydrogen Peroxyde

Mold is a serious shit that can fuck your lungs in a very nasty way; super hard to treat.....

Best of luck!

Lost my post I was writing. Basically powdery mildew and bud rot/botrytis are both a fungus. Powdery mildew can be dealt with using 1 part milk to 9 parts water or 1 teaspoon baking soda to a quart of water. It changes the surface of the plant to a pH that the powdery mildew doesnt grow on. Botrytis isharder to deal with. P
Sulphur burners amd sulfer sprays are said to work. Moist high nutrient enviroments amd flower are favored areas. Dead plant matter or wounds are a favorite sprouting enviroment. Plwdery mildew spores are about 100 to 300 microns. I couldn't look up bud rot spore size.

Nice thread!

I am going away for a week and currently have some buds hang drying....Right when I'm going away is about when I should be jarring/burping them...

Would it be alright just to leave them in the jar without burping? (As long as they've dried out long enough?) Or is the air circulation an absolute must?

What's my best bet? How should I leave these buds for my week away? Would leaving them in the freezer be a good idea??

Thanks guys!
