New Grower frostier under led?

I've just made the switch to led after many years growing under hps.

Recently got the dp high lite and have noticed that my plants seem so much frostier than under hps at the same stages..is this normal?

I'm just started an LED/HPS combo to try to get the best of both for my Sweet Seeds grow. 2 400w hps and BlackStar240uv.

The Highlite uses a great spectrum.

led's have some advantage over mh/hps, mostly in saving's and lower temp's, and safety from fire. but, when you look at grow's like mrn produce's, well you gotta say they are working well too! being on fixed income, i need the lower electric bill. as the price on led panel's drop, for those reason's mentioned, led will be the way to go. Makes sense as the good LEDs around have an incomparably higher Photosythetic Active Radiation - PAR... meaning, more light in the spectrum the plant uses for its biology. With HID they're essentially sweating themselves out and drinking whatever is around to compensate, so eating is essentially a side effect from drinking to compensate the sweating.

Well... kind of a simplistic caricature... but not that far off at all.

If you invest what you save in electricity in climate control, they will reward accordingly, so I would not be surprised at all if LED produce more triches.

On the other hand, low quality MH put out exceeding amount of UVB, that being a major catalyst for THC production as a defense mechanism. Good quality MH have an inner coating thats shield UVB.
