Ok, so I have a friend that I just got reaquinted with a couple of days ago, and he to paranoid to come on here. So here I am asking for help since I a novice grower myself, but helping the best I am able with my limited knowledge/experiance.

Strain: GDP (Photo)
Growing Medium: FFOF
He has never used any type of nutes up to this point. But he is planning on it, next week when he switches to 12/12
Lighting: T-5s thus far.
He is planning on getting HID lighting for flowering.
So my friend has been vegging this plant for over 3 months.
He had never tested for PH. First thing I told him he needed to start doing. Which he will. once soil drys out.He had been watering everyday. I told him no, no.

My guess is obvious nute lockout, and even if there wasn't, my guess would be that the nutes would have been used up in the OF by now anyway.

My big concern besides the obvious nute defs., are the black lines on the leaves in the last pic that he said just began showing up. What are they?

Is this photo worth growing out from here?
He would like to save it if possible, as he found that this strain works the best for him for meds.

Thank for your input as always.

Not sure what the black lines are but I wouldn't give up on it. I would get the problem fixed and a week or 2 to recover before flowering though. I never used FF soil but I'm sure he should have been giving veg nutes after 2 months max of letting it go longer. Maybe some magnesium too...

Have a look see here bud. Although don't see your problem on the list.

he has potassium and calcium deficiencies beginning... and phosphorus is the purple / blak color on the leaves.... that plant is well into frame building and needs dramatically more nutrient of the aforementioned types. :smokebuds: :pass:

Hi Jm! :tiphat: thanks for that (multi-)diagnosis,... I was puzzled by its appearance, and couldn't resolve which nute's were involved... the consistent pattern of the necrotic areas, in between the diagonal veins, and the color- is this the K defc. symptoms showing, vs. Ca which is more random, spotty, and brown/tan? As for P, the dark purple/green color, I gather this is an early symptom sign...? I've not seen a GDP plant live before, and I wasn't sure about it's natural hues being a purple strain,.... :Thank You: ...you da man! :smoke:

yeah.... exactly...

guys... remember... you get a plant up to where its ready to flower..... its the equivalent of a teenager getting pregnant... still growing and producing young... takes a TREMENDOIUS amount of nutrition. especially calcium potassium and phosporus
