When I started my closet grow I had 1 seedling that had issues with her leaves. Now I have my 2x4 grow going and another seedling with very similar issues. Seedling in closet grow was planted into straight FFOF. Tent seedling I put a solo cup size slug of FFHF in center of pot with FFOF.

Don't think it's either. Autos are known to be finicky about their nutes and soil might be too hot for those seedlings. Treat em with care and they just might grow out of it. Some say OF is too hot to start in. I use HF but I cut it about 1/3 with a vermiculite/perlite mix and have gotten the crinkles even on photos, all mine grew out of it. Main thing, Don't Panic and enjoy it.

The one in the tent grow is in a Happy Frog slug. The one in my closet has grown out of it, her currently in the middle. Just curious as to if it's something I'm doing, lol

Well looks like my 2nd little mutant has decided to start to grow some good leaves. I did contact ILGM. They want to replace my seeds for my 2 little Special plants, but want me to germinate the remaining 3 seeds from the lot first to see if I have anymore issues. (No time frame to do so they said, just let them know results) Have to say thats pretty good customer service!

Ffof can be a bit hot for auto babies. Happy frog not so much but still kinda dense for easy root development.. Best to put some super light seedling mix in a small cup sized area in the middle of the pot and let the plants easily produce their initial roots, then they can decide when they want more nutrients and seek out the amended soil on their own. The first pic of the scraggly seedling looks like its soil is pretty chunky from the pic. Looks like they are coming along well though.
GL!

@Tom Bombadil I germinated and grown 5 others day 31 now on my oldest girls. Same soil same environment. I know autos can be finicky. Just weird to me 2 seedlings had exact same issue.

I have been happy with FFHF (mixed 3:1 with extra perlite) but I start the seed in a jiffy pellet. I’ve had minimal “crinkle” of my seedlings as I think the pellet gives them an easier start.

ILGM often gets a bad rap, but they have been very good about replacing seed that I’ve had issues with. I had an entire 10/10 of blueberry not germinate (while other seeds did at the same time). They gave me a credit so I could buy something else, as I really didn’t want to do more blueberry (I think the credit was more than just ten seeds, too…I think). I suspect the inconsistencies have to do with who they buy their seeds from (they don’t breed their own), but they do take care of issues. No complaints.

A solo cup of HF is almost like no HF. A seedlings roots blow past that in the first few days and right into the OF and your back were you started.
