So.. its been a little over 2 years since i greened my thumb up and prior for about 7 years i did outdoor grows only with regular phenos. I decided last week i wanted to try some autos this spring/summer and picked up a few lemon auto(seedsman) and a 10x mix auto fem pack from buddah. Here are my concerns as im a bit rusty. To start i plan on using fflw with ffhf at about a 20/80 ratio and i planned on starting directly from seed in this medium in perhaps 5 gal bags before putting them in ground. Will that work without doing a pre germination? Also is there a cost effecient degradeable bag/container that i can use with the medium i listed above to directly drop the cont and all into the ground once they are large enough? I dont want to stunt the growth by any means. Some tips on that would be awesome and other direct seed to medium tips for the autos. For nutes i planned on just using the 2 blooming nutes out of the ff trio pack after about 3 weeks. (Assuming thats a good time to start?) Any advice on what i should use/how/when would be greatly appreciated. Theres a local hydroponics shop about a 15 minute drive from me so i should be able to find anything recommended with ease. I want to get the best yields i can with these autos outdoors for my first run. Much love in advanced. Thanks for taking a read

Roots will grow through fabric bags. Rain science has some nice ones u could dig back up and reuse or get some decent fabric bags they’re cheap and leave them they’ll biodegrade

I took a visit to my local shop. Grabbed some basics il be using. Seedling soil and the ffhf. If i do the tiered pot transplant trick will it work well if i start the seeds in 1 gal 6inch diameter pots.(inside the inner pot will just be the fflw. Im going to cut long slots all around the inner. Sleeve them with another un cut pot. Then after a week pop the sleeve off and place them directly into the 1.5x1.5 holes im preparing that will have the happyfrog / perlite mix. From there let them veg for 2 weeks and begin 1/4th blooming schedule every 3 days. Slowly raise up to full strength bloom nutes leading up til the last 2 weeks before flushing/letting them dry for harvest. In a nutshell should i yield very good results with the pot size i listed above and other materials? I now have about 30 auto fems on the way which i planned to do all at once for a nice first attempt. Fastbuds skittles and tang matic included =) (read alot of good things on fastbuds) thanks in advance for your input. Very much appreciated. Ive got about 3 more weeks until i sow the seeds in the potted seedling mix so its getting close and i hope i can nail this. When i tier transplant from the 6 inch dia 1gals it will be going directly into the ground with amended soil with the happy frog. Idk if i really stated that above.

With the amount of seeds im sowing this run the grow bag method will be abit pricey. Would you reccomend i use the 1 gal 6inch pots or the 5 gal pots using the tiered for the final move into the ground?

Either will work. With the smaller pots you’ll have to time the move outside or you’ll wind up with smaller plants ready to flower faster.

Im pretty much waiting on those 50 degree plus nights and il prob be directly sowing into the 1 gals skipping the whole pre germ process . Once they get about 2 nodes il pop them into the ground with the richer soil mix. Will that keep my veg growth going fine? I just wanted to make sure. Going to go make my last stop for the remaining pots. Il need a total of 60x 1 gals to do the tiered moving. Fun stuff. More so digging 30 holes haha.

Awesome. Il start a journal here in a few more weeks to show progress. Gotta prep my area and get these holes dug in the meantime. Cheers til then.
