New Grower Germ Question

Hey guys,

I am currently germinating 2 seeds for my first ever grow. i left them in a glass of water overnight until they sunk to the bottom them i put them inside some moist paper towel, then in a plastic sealed container and put them on top of my satellite box. They have been there for nearly 3 days now and still no root has popped out.

I know that some people say it can take longer but most on here seem to say the root pops out after 1-2 days and being my first ever germ attempt i'm naturally concerned.

I think i have done everything right but just want it to pop out soooo bad so i can get my first ever grow under way!

Have you checked to see if the heat is getting to the paper towel? Only thing to do is give it some more time,some seeds are slow germers.

Ive found mos Auto beans take 2/3 days to pop straight out of a root riot cube, the normal reg beans are taking 5 days at least. Patience is a virtue I suppose!

yeah, the paper towel is nice and warm and moist inside the container. I guess it is just patience as you say.

Hey Melki. I'm in the same boat as you.lol. im germinating 3 beans for my first grow ever too. Mine are in a damp( not soaked) paper towel and in a ziplock sandwich bag. Then I placed them on a plate with another plate on top of it for darkness. I started mine on the 5th of Feb. It's been 4 days and mine have only popped out about an 1/8th of an inch. When I woke up today I placed them on the floor in my room about 2 feet in front of a space heater. I'm gonna give em another day or two before I put them in my DWC system. Good Luck

I put the seeds of current grow straight to coco and rockwool, all but 1 germinated, but I did a paper towel test run with edible seeds also. Do your seeds get any fresh air? I used no plastic and they sprouted fine.

I check them every 12 hours or so but no they are not getting any fresh air other than when i check them... Should they?

I found there is no need to keep air flowing, just make sure the paper towel isn't too damp, and have knows seeds to take up to 10 days. just stay with them and believe

seems different strains take different times had 2 pk seeds pop in 24 hr. with nice tails by 36 hr. yet had a nl seed that took 48 hr just to crack with minimal tail germinated on paper towel in plastic bag blow in air and seal bag placed close to hot water tank and kept in dark

OGBush I am wanting to germ tommorow and was going to just use root riot cubes and put the beans right in them... do you put them into the cube in a certain direction or just put them in there and wait? sounds dumb I know but just curious if anyones found that one way works better then another?
