Just wondering if any of you are germinating your seeds in the final pot. I've seen the reasons not too but I've also seen folks who swear by it. Seems to me with the speed that autoflowers go, transplanting and possible shock may not be a great idea?

i like to use the final pot when possible very little training only light lst if you want to transplant from what iv seen you want to do it in the first 10-15 days and be extra super gentle to not disturb the roots i tend to be a bit particular about transplanting it could take me 20 mins to pack a pot and transplant but im talking photo periods iv never personally transplanted autos yet

I’ve done it both ways over the years and I find it easier to start in a small container and transplant by day 12 at the latest. This last round I was extremely sick and the transplants were rough lol one root ball completely broke apart and she only took a day or two to recover. Starting in the Final pot is just more patience with watering and starting with the right moisture in the pot. And that just takes trial and error to get it just right.

I have a feeling doing it in coco may give a little more control I moisture

I start all mine in a root riot then directly in a solo cup till say day 10 ish and I have great roots then and into her final pot .as when I first stated I did it straight into a big pot I'm tended to over water typical new grower mistake

The other thought I had was fill your final pot to a level that would allow you to sit the root riot or whatever on top. When your ready just fill the pot to the level of the root riot or even over if you had too much stretch.
One negative I can see to these is if you have cold weather, putting a heat mat down may not work so well
Don't mind me, I'm just thinking out loud. Run it up a pole and see who salutes
