New Grower germination failure

Cannabis Seeds
The correct way to germinate the beans is to use 5 drops of a good root stim in 150mm of air conditioned tap water at "72F"............this is the correct temp..

I'm gonna have to disagree with you there, mate. As far as the optimum temperature at least. I believe that to be far too cool for germination at 72 degrees F. It's more like 82F, anywhere from 78-84F.
I've never read or heard using temps downwards of 72F. Not saying it won't work, but I don't want to suggest to him that is optimum germination temp for Cannabis seeds because it's just not.

I have been in and out of using root stim on germination though, but usually don't with Autos. I have been doing my initial soak in 2 parts water 1 part standard hydrogen peroxide and it really seems to help. Keeps it clean and oxygenated. :D

I'm not speaking with much experience here but i just germinated my first two seeds and had perfect results so i guess ill share.
I soaked my seeds over night (around 12-14 hours) under inspection the seeds were still floating but if touched they would semi sink like they where neutrally buoyant.
I then took the seeds out of the water and placed them into damp paper towel in an 8th sized weed bag and put that in the airing cupboard (around 80f)
Less than 24 hours later my seeds are ready to plant!!

EDIT: i also blew into the bags every few hours to keep them puffed up with air.

I agree...

Squid, interesting stuff... what strength peroxide are you using for that mix...? 2:1 seems extremely high... but then again, chemistry was never my best subject

It's 3%, regular brown bottle from the drug store. And hell I dunno, I know read somewhere on how much to use, but I could be off. It's working though.

all the method's in this thread work! that being said, my advice is to keep it simple. mr nice smoke mentioned if they are auto femmed seed's they should go right in the soil of the big pot's. that is the best way!! i do it a little different, i do my auto's in a small controlled enviroment, in DSC_0374.jpga coverd brownie dish on a heat pad, to produce a hothouse enviroment. and soak seeds only 12 hour's then to peat pellet's because i want all the actionDSC_0373.jpg to take place under the soil. i spray water on the cover of the pan to keep it moist, temp's in the 80s adjusted by the heat pad. with the moisture in DSC_0372.jpgthe pan the humidity is high same with the temp's. i have a 100% germ rate. and for regular auto's i have a 50% female to male ratio. after i put uncracDSC_0371.jpgked seed's in my little hothouse it take's 24 hr's for seed's to pop out of the soil. 100% of my seed's have broke surface in 24hr's using this method:2cents:DSC_0370.jpg my tent inviroment is running at 65 to 70 deg.f. rh at 30% not good for germming, but in my covered pan it is in the 80's and humidity is up in the 70% range a much better enviroment for seed's to pop. and i keep the seedling's in there for a few day's, they like it hot and humid as well. at least until they have some true leave's by then the tap root is coming out of peat pellet and you drop them in the big pot's
no stress at all.:2cents: mr nice smoke's method also produces no stress! he has better control of his grow enviroment temp, rh, so he can go right to the big pot's with his seed's...this is the number one method for femmed auto's if you have a handle on your enviroment. but if you cant get temp's and rh in the sweet spot, you can in a covered pan. i hang two 6500k cfl's over my pan for light during germination. i have read that a lot of people put there germinating seed's in the dark??? this make's no sense to me?? seed's outdoor's germinate under the sun. so i germ on my regular
light cycle of 20/4 keep it simple!:2cents::peace: practice what william ocham had to say :D

Hey guys,

Thanks so much for all the replies... very interesting reading. My Hygrometer was delivered today and when i stuck it in the box that's on the sky box the RH was 97% and the temp was 37.5*C(99.5*C)... So no wonder they're suffering i have left the lid on the container ajar now and it is at 80% RH and 29*C (84*F). Gonna leave them there for a small amount of time now theyve been there so long and then plant them and see what happens... If not i got 4 seeds so i will try again with the other 2 and just soak them and put them straight into the medium!

Seeing as everyone seems to have differing opinions on this is it best to put them straight into there 10L pots that i have when i do plant them or put them in smaller ones first then repot when they're a bit bigger.

Thanks again

Yup. Sounds like you were cooking them at nearly 100F. Whew...Glad you got that sussed out. My suggestion is plant in final container and then you don't have to worry about transplanting and all. :D
