Hey guys. I got my hands on a biothrive go box. Wondering if anyone has used it in a passive system like a hemphy bucket. I usually do straight perlite with about 2 inches at the bottom of my buckets of nutrient solution and the box calls for the stuff to be circulated and airiated with bug bubbles, not airstone, to combat the foam. That gonna matter in a passive system where its sitting in perlite? I'm worried all that stuff making foam down there is gonna burn them roots up. I reckon I may have to do a grow in dirt, which will be topsoil and this line . I don't even have a soil probe hah! Box says you don't have to ph this stuff either. The Diamond Black and Marine bottles I don't think I'll use any. I am aware it's made by the devil but I do have it and it was gifted so I wanna use it. But can I in a hemphy bucket.......

The email I got back from GH.

Good afternoon Nathan, this product will perform quite poorly in a hydroponic system and the entire General Organics offering should be kept to soil and soil less drain to waste growing styles only. This is why you see no instructions for this use. The nutrients must be applied to plants within 4 hours of mixing to avoid fermentation and anaerobic bacterial growth.

I've used that line in soil less growing before with descent results. For any type of hydro growing I'm a firm believer in growing sterile. No need to add beneficial microbes to break down the nutrients so they become available to the plant. Plants don't know or care if a molicule of a given nutrient is from an organic or inorganic source. Inorganic nutrients are immediately available to the plant which makes it much easier to address any deficiencies that might arise. No waiting for them to be broken down and then taken up by the plants.
