Hello all,

Can anyone tell me definitively if you can use normal,non-vegetable glycerine when making a glycerine extraction tincture for oral use?

thanks in advance

What's considered normal? Most common glycerol today is vegetable derived as a side effect of biodiesel production. Do you have a specific product in mind?

All the facts here:

EDIT: Hey pop! Beat me by 2 minutes!! LOL!!

Thanks guys, i now realise that they are chemically identical and the difference is purely manufacture methods.

Hey BnD,

The manufacturing methods is what scares me. Organic process, or chemical reduction process?

Just a thought.

realcarlos- I kind of followed the recipie in the 'alcohol free tincture...' thread at the top of this sub forum, and i also had a read up on skunkpharmresearch.com but i didnt put in as much weed as it says to (1g/8.5ml i beleive) because i was afraid it was gunna either be a disaster or too strong for me (i have no tolerance whatsoever!). as it turns out it wasnt overly powerful at all, it gives a very slow kind of buzz that could almost not be there if you know what i mean, like you could forget youd even taken any and just function as normal. perfect for anyone who needs meds but still has to function.

As a diabetic I thought I should point out that diabetics shouldn't use Glycerine based Tinctures, instead a tincture using alcohol would be advised.

Whilst we are on the subject of which tincture to use, Alcohol based tinctures should not be given to recovering alcoholics!

If you happen to be a diabetic who is also a recovering alcoholic, neither glycerine or alcohol tinctures should be used and an oil based extraction would be advised eg coconut oil extraction or cannabutter etc
