Edit : i also forgot to mention my hs1 is broke very weird. the light still works but the synjet stopped and has been running hot ever since just waiting till tomorrow since im off work so i can contact gn for a replacement. hopefully they will give me a new unit as i recon the leds might have suffered without a fan

Hay bro you should have an email from GN about mains power surges,they will replace the unit so contact them tomorrow and they will arrange everything.

That is known issue. GN explains:
on the first production batch the inactive Synjet PWM wire can see the mains ground and this can create sneak paths through the synjet. If there is a surge or overvoltage from the mains supply this vulnerability can cause the permanent failure of a Synjet.

and further:
If your Jet has failed or you are unsure please contact us and dont worry as the light will dim to protect itself from any further damage

A little bit screwing and the light will be like new.

I wass happy. mine were patched before delivery.

i didnt want to post anything as i wasnt sure if mine was the only units out with a fault but it seems its accross the board.
The fix is easy just a purple wire needs to be removed from the synjet.

I believe it's only affected a small number of the units but the easy fix protects against any problems with mains surges in the future. GN will be on in a day or to with the fix but I think they want to directly contact the customers first which makes sense.

This diary is getting a little lonely so some pics are due, just a few quick snap shot of how its doing under the hs1. It's really well stacked about and inch and a half from the bottom node to the top of the plant and I've been tucking plenty of fan leaves. Now that it's out the cold and growing properly I'm going to veg for about 6 more weeks at least before she goes into flower and I will add another hs1 come April when I get my tax money to make a total of 330ish watts of pure grownorthern goodness

My 2 cents on a fast flower strain would be Green Crack, it's ferocious in veg and flower, massive yeilds aswell, I did the CC version and it was great

It only effects you if you get one of the units shipped in the first month, I had to do the mod on mine. Its easy although GN offered to pay shipping back to them and then return them after they had done the fix but thought whats the point. its just 6 screws and snip a wire out. Also i covered ends of wire with electrical tape.

I'm afraid not sour.b I was looking forward to doing so but my seeds took a turn for the worse and pick n mix seeds don't refund so no chance of replacement. So long story short it's just going to be the cheese on its own. Good news is the pheno type is so stinky it can be smelt out of the tent and out the door so I will be cloning this one to share around
