I bought a Xtrasun 400 watt hps bulb, because it was cheap. When I turned it on, it didn't seem as bright or as red as the old bulb was, when it was new.

I thought I might use it for veg. Do you think that would be ok?

I am planning on getting a Digilux for the flowering stage. I have a Lumatek 400 digital ballast, the older version. I've seen comments that say that at least some bulbs designed for the old magnetic ballasts don't work well with the new style digital ballasts.

Not that it matters, but I just started a Sour Caramel, just popped a few days ago. That's the first one I will grow with this.
