New Grower Got a Couple Of Questions For You Pros

This is new to me, so when Im ready to germ Im going to attempt a grow log

Hey Gardner, nice work on those MI5's!!:clap: :slap:

The thing I've found to be most important when trying to germ seeds is soil temperature. I've found a soil temperature of 78-80 degrees is the sweet spot for germing. If you have a spare meat thermometer, I would put it in your starter pot to see what your soil temps are reading. I germ my beans in a small cabinet, and I found I had to add a couple of 13W CFL's to bring the ambient temperature up enough to get the soil temperature in the sweet zone.

If your soil temp is too cold, beans will take a lot longer to germ and they run the risk of damping off or rotting because the soil isn't shedding water fast enough. If your soil temp is too warm, it will shed the water too quickly and your beans can cook, or if they do sprout they'll dry up and wither.

Hope this helps!! :smokebuds:

Thanks for all the info there Kindred. You sound like you've been doing this for awhile. Its nice to have knowledgable people to share and help resolve things as they happen. Im cleaning up getting ready for the TD beans, have the soil mixed and ready. I have only one northern light plant almost ready to chop. I'll put up pics of it before and after shes chopped. She grew pretty tall and has alot of side branches. I'm just gonna let her go until all the leaves are dead.

Yes,thats a good thing. It means the buds are nice and compact and this is what you want.

I'm waiting for my TD beans to arrive, for now I have my last NL about ready to chop. IS IT NORMAL FOR MOST OF MY TINY LEAFS THAT ARE STICKING OUT OF THE BUD TO BE TURNING YELLOW CRISPY WITH CURLED UP ENDS, JUST CRISPY AND DEAD. SHOULD I KEEP LETTING IT GO OR CHANCE WAITING LONGER, I DONT SEE ANY AMBERS????? The light isnt too low, I already checked that. They are in an open room with a light suspending over them, so theres no heat issues The bigger fan leafs already pretty much died off, even the leafs that stick out of the bud are dead yellow and crispy. Theres just a few smaller fan leafs all around it that are still a light green. Wondering if I should give her one more dose of grow big or chop it. .......Anyone have any ideas?.......When I start the TD grow, I have a dresser that I made into a cab with a fan and carbon scrubber. It has a fiture I made with the smaller CFL's 12 of them to be exact. I'm going to go 5 weeks in the dresser cab. Then put 4 more seedlings in the dresser and move the 5 week olds under my 400HPS on 18/6. I'm going to try and be able to get some every month.........I put the DVD in the pic so you can get an idea how big she is.

shes a 100% cloudy for over a week now, no more leafs left on the main cola, should I or Shouldnt I chop??????

I would chop her down. Some strains of autos don't turn amber. I would think if you were going to see any than you probably would've by now:2cents:
