Hi guys,
I am growing my first greenhouse attempt. I will preface this by saying I was a professional greenhouse grower for ornamental and bedding plants. Not hooch, just flowers! I grew 9 plants last summer and they were planted very late and I still got 1/4p out of it. I use it for pain and sleeping. It works.

Here is a photo of one plant from my first grow last summer:

I ordered some auto/fems and planted five seeds in Jiffy pellets; four have germinated in two days. Awaiting the other one to germinate. They are in a clear container to maintain moisture, sitting on a heating element for seed germination. Here is what that looks like:
IMG_0135.jpgI plan to grow these in a small greenhouse which will be inside of a larger greenhouse which will be 10x20 feet. The smaller will be 7x7 feet, enough certainly for five plants.

Soil will be mixed by me using the following:

1/2 peat
1/4 certified organic inoculated compost
1/4 rock sand from decomposed granite or lavasand

To that, I add per 3 gallons a handful or two of granular certified organic fertilizer. Since phosphorous does not move easily in soils for root uptake, I add a dusting of soft rock phosphate. It doesn't hurt to throw in a handful of epsom salts which is just magnesium. Mychorriza fungi is absolutely beneficial for a good root system with a lot of added area to uptake nutrients and water which root hairs would otherwise have difficulty attaining. Worm castings do not burn plants. The level of nitrogen is so incredibly low and in a form which is absolutely more beneficial to soil organisms than most anything. Feeding plants never works. Feeding soil always works. When you have soil full of micro organisms they will SET you plants on FIII YAAA :firedevil:hahahahaha!

Meantime, I have not yet planted my germinated seeds in their containers yet, but when I do they will be in a minimum of ten gallon containers. I want to see if it makes a big difference so one plant will be in a five gallon pot.

stay tuned...

Sounds great Thubten are you planting Auto's or Photo's? If it is Auto's then I think the one in the 5 gallon will do better but we will see.:munchies:

I'm using Auto dwarfs. Why do you say these will do better in 5 gallons? Do they like to be a little potbound?

I've had to change up what I was doing. There simply was not enough sun out in the greenhouse with lots of strings of gray days. I had to bring the plants back in and make a little veg area in my clothes closet. Here are the photos of what I did.
33.jpg This is an emergency mylar blanket. It is 3 dollars, Walmart in the camping accessory
and is big enough for a small grow area in a closet. I taped it up to the walls as shows next:

rr.jpg Here you see the corner of the closet.

55.jpg At the local party store, I bought a package of 12 sheets of Mylar. Each sheet is 24x20" and this cost about 5 dollars. I taped it to a piece of cardboard
which I covered with plastic first and placed it on the floor in the closet to protect the carpet.

66.jpg This measures approximately 4x4'

77.jpg Put 5 gallon containers on top of cheap plastic trays to catch water. Add a few lamps with a bunch of CFL's 42w, 2700 Lumens each. Put a small fan on and let the girls cook up.

69.jpg In a few weeks I'll put them back out into the greenhouse when I can keep it at no cooler than 70 at night. This is not rocket science. My next grow will be outside and I will really get
into each detail and grow according to some of the pros here. Use all the chems they use, all the soil amendments, etc. I can't wait!!!!!!

These plants may have mosaic virus. What do you all think?

Sending one LARGE :karma Cloud: your way it isn't that virus... I found this sticky on icmag seems pretty to have all the info you need... Got to see the rest of the plant and observe it for the next few days and see if
It spreads... If it is Mosaic virus I hate to be the pooper of the party but you'll have to kill the plant :( otherwise it will affect entire grow... Damn viruses :(
