Hi Velveto! ...dusting off my brain cells, here,.. the pics-- these were posted at the LHT a while ago, right-- Thrip infestation? Lordy, the Jack and Durb' got hammered!... I gather you finally won that battle, or are they still popping up? *(spider mites can cause similar damage, but it's focused much more on the bottom of the leaves,.. until it gets reeeeally bad! but by then, the webbing and sheer numbers are tell-tale,... and the leaf usually dies soon after,... thrips, however, are bold little shits, and feed freely on upper surfaces, and are highly mobile-- they may dine-and-shine!)....I ask, because I see some black specks,... some look like dirt particles, but others look like possible thrip turds,... these are flatter, and stick to the surface more or less,... such attacks are super stressful on the plants, so off-color leaves are typical,... Now that said, Ca-Mg issues are common at this stage, and so is some normal lower leaf yellowing,... the lime is pretty slow acting, depending on particle size, so you need something that's available immediately... if you saw some improvement, I wonder if the soil was acidic, and the lime helped raise it up some, increasing nute' availability...? In any case, epsom salts are great, fast acting, BUT only bring Mg and Sulphur (MgSO3) to the table, no Ca,... I can't be sure from these pics if there's any actual defc.,... if you like, post some more at the LHT or Infirmary... :smoke:

Tx waira, there's no web so I think it's thrips, full flowering now so I'd better spray no chemicals, right?
Anyway plants survived, but they're starting to feast on my younger taiga, but now being the end of summer there's less of them.
Any DIY organic solutions?

... my pleasure, bud! I used the Capt'n stuff on buds before,... saw the larvae snacking on leaves while scoping the trics! As mentioned, this product is food garden safe, and according to the label, can be applied right up to almost harvest,... low residuals are why, I believe,...and it's OMRI listed organic! ..I found thrips come in waves, and are always around,... they lay eggs, on/in the plant, larvae feed, then drop to the soil to pupate,.. no feeding during this time though, but unless you dose the soil too, you'll leave a new generation waiting in the wings,... diatomaceous earth is a great non-toxic killer to cover the soil surface with, and will help against many kinds of bugs,... this stuff, on the micro-level, is like glass spikes and shards,... bugs get it in their tender spots, where it slices and dices them, causing them to basically bleed out! So, don't let up now, mate, keep wailing on them with what you can!! :goodluck:
