Hey all, signed up to afn a while ago, and i have been lurking on here, gathering information for when i put my grow into action. Thought id post my planned setup here, and get some opinions on it, and just introduce myself really.

I have a small grow space, dimensions will be posted at a later date. Here is my proposed setup, any comments are welcomed.

6 x Plants, Autofloweing of course, strains are to be finalized at a later date.
They will be grown in BioBizz allmix soil with BioBizz nutrients. Grow, Bloom, Topmax and Root juice will be introduced into the plants via a nutrient solution starting around week 3. Alg-A-Mic will be foliar fed, and although not organic, i may chose to use SSU by Humboldt County. 7.5L pots are what i plan to use.

Lighting will be courtesy of 14 x cfl's, and 1 or 2 uv tubes.
I shall be using 6 x 105w 6500k along with 6 x 85w 2700k for veg, and 6 x 105w 2700k with 6 x 85w 6500k for flowering. These will be in 6 reflectors above the plants, with a dual splitter allowing me to use two lights in one reflector. There will be two ( possibly only one in the middle ) 10.00 reptile uvb lights running the length of the 2 sets of 3 plants. If i do use the uvb, i doubt i will be using the SSU. 2 x 60w 4200k lights will be hung in the middle, i know they are not necessary, but i am trying to represent the sun as best i can, and having the extra 4200k lights should give my plants a bit better spectrum. Whether they use it or not, is up to them. The cycle will most probably be 18 on 6 off, with the uv coming on 15 mins of each hour.

I shall be using diamond reflective sheeting to minimize light "wastage".

Airflow will be provided by a 6" oscillating fan, and a 4" inline fan with carbon filter for scent control seeing as it is a stealth grow.

Lst will be used as i only have a limited amount of vertical room for them to grow, i am hoping the lights will keep the inter node length short.

If i have missed anything, let me know, or if you have any questions feel free to ask. I have been researching for about a year now, and i think i finally have the knowledge i need to be able to grow some lovely ladies, the grow should commence around summer time, as i am purchasing the equipment piece by piece.

Look forward to talking to you all, have a nice afternoon guys and girls. :tiphat:

Welcome to AFN Matty

Hey Matty - Welcome to AFN!!

I'm liking the sound of your setup!! :)
I have a small grow space, dimensions will be posted at a later date.
That's one of the Important questions that will have a direct impact on how many plants you can grow, the ideal light setup and ventilation needed :) But we can help you there (if needed) when we get there!

They will be grown in BioBizz allmix
Why the Allmix? - Was is the promise of 6 weeks of nutes? (if so .. don't be fooled, it sounds better than it really is) - not saying it's bad - it's good stuff ... but in my opinion the light mix is better for autos.

Lighting will be courtesy of 14 x cfl's, and 1 or 2 uv tubes.
That's the spirit!! :D 14..... 14 of em!!! Nice! .... but thinking a bit more, maybe 12 or 18 is the magic number (2 or 3 for each plant)

4" inline fan with carbon filter for scent control seeing as it is a stealth grow.
Yeah - thats always a good idea.

I've got an awesome 4" Ruck fan .. don't forget that the more space you have, the bigger extraction you need. 6 plants could easily fill up 12-16 feet square of floor room (judging by my "smaller" plants and the space i have)

Well - i think you've got a great plan! I'm looking forward to seeing the grow in action.
Good luck and if you need any help, just give us a shout!

All the best
Blue ^_^

:welcome::welcome::welcome:

Hey blue, thanks for the warm welcome :D, i will try to find a tape measure later, cant seem to find it for the life of me lol. I chose the all mix because I've heard good things about it, I'm going to look into a few comparisons between both of them so i can decide which is better for my girls - cheers for bringing up that light mix might be better option, something to look into.
I planned on going with the 14, as i am using the reflectors, this is why i am using the high-ish powered cfl's in there so each plant has its own, independent source of light, and i dont have to ajust loads of lights, just move the reflectors up and down :P. But, do you think i would be able to use a tripple splitter on the reflector and have 3 lights for each plant?. there will also be the 2 vertically hanging, and the uv tubes along the top too.
My grow space is very small, behind a bed, i know the vertical room is around 70cm, and i wouldnt be surprised if it was L 75 x W 75 x H 70 cm, training them should help me achieve the 6 i want to fit, will be quite tight ( but tight is good, right ? ;) ), it should be achievable (hopefully). The 4" should be more than enough for that space, but id be happy to upgrade it, if needed :).
Cant wait till the summer to get this all up and running, going to check out a few of your grows blue, you sound like a top guy!.
Take care, and stay lifted - Matty.

Hey

No worries :)
Check this out as a matter of priority mate https://www.autoflower.org/f89/bio-bizz-knowledge-base-21587.html It's the biobizz knowledge base. It tells you everything you need to know about the soils Allmix and Light mix - feeding schedules for each of them. It's golden for you!!

In which case - why not get 3 125w or 250w in reflectors?

Moving lots of little lights is a pain in the arse - but the trade off is you can put the light exactly where you want it - getting light straight to the bud sites :) I've seen somebody do this - but it's not for me. Big bulb .. big reflector!

L 75 x W 75 x H 70
That's a bit small for 6 unless you wanna grow very small plants (like an afn hero called stunted ... genius!) ... I have 60cm x 60cm floor room and i can fit in 2 10 litre pots.
In which case - why not get 3 125w or 250w in reflectors? ... EDIT: actually - you might only fit in 2

.. i "should" only grow 2 decent sized plants at once, but i take the mick and put in two per pot and have a more "devil may care" approach than some do. (i'm not recommending it yet!)

The 4" should be more than enough for that space, but id be happy to upgrade it, if needed :).
Nah - just get a good one! The amount of crap i've bought to upgrade is unreal! save yourself a fortune!

Good luck buddy :)

On my way xD

Swings and roundabouts i guess, might get my triple splitter when my reflectors arrive and just see what i think then, bit hard to say whats best without having it in front of you.

Was hoping for 6, by using the smaller pots, training, and possibly a small amount of trimming - i may just about be able to fit 6 in there, providing they are not too bushy of course. Again, when i get the pots and stuff i will be able to get a better idea of what will fit, and having the actual dimensions should help haha. If i do decide to do 6, i could always put 2 or more of them outside ( if the space gets overcrowded ). Maybe i could do 5 with a revised layout, going to have to find the tape measure first though

Do any of you guys have a rough idea of the yield i could pull from each plant ? Dried bud, and good quality leaf matter ( for hash or edibles ) :thank:

Thanks again, Matty :)

That an impossible question to answer mate :)
But what i can say is as you grow more, your yields will grow with experience. With some help from the good AFN crowd, we'd hope that you'd pull at around an ounce per plant first grow.
You may have the green thumb and the golden touch.
I pull a couple per plant, TaNg pulls 10 per plant, and Mr Ganjamoto pulls 1000g per plant (that to many ounces for me to count lol)

It's all relative - but following the right adivce - you'll definitely fill your jars! :)

Welcom Matty.

On yer first grow, don't get too tied up about yeild. You are learning, but you do know what you are doing it seems, at least to get things started. Blue is Aces, and can direct you in what you can do.

Stay positive, you will get there.:Sharing One:

Peace

Damn.. 1kg per plant, the ganja gods must love him xD. For those of you that are wondering what that equates to in ounces, it is 35.274 to be precise, put simply, allota weed haha.

Cheers Eek, and thanks for the positive words, i have done quite alot of research, and have done some gardening as i just stated, but never grew weed, it should be an interesting and bountiful journey.
