quick intro from an expat stuck in new zealand where the hydro is scarce ! grown good old blue cheese in europe old school in pots not much nuts a all, real clean real strong. ( after a decade of the usual teething issues, spider mites temp humidity control etc )

i got sick of moaning about the green here and thought id try to set up again. not wanting to be drawn into the 18 week gamble all over again in a different climate I took some advice from a fire who said autos have come on leaps and bounds since the days of one bud stems !

i set away 2 x think different, 1 x orange kush straight into huge pot, beautiful soil mix. 1x think diff had a rough start and had to be replaced, ( now by a sour orange diesel kush ) . the first TD is like superman and is sprouting its fourth set of leaves as we speak. the original orange kush is steady away with its first set sprouted nicely just waiting for the next to show through.

I've potted the emergency SODK 3 days ago into the dark warm pot covered to keep moisture in, hopefully its tap root is diving like a whale and it'll show face up top in the next day or so.

struggling with the cold now so I've switched from a 250 hps to a 400hps, ( been on 24hr now switching to 20/4 ) its definitely helped. average temp now at 29 ish

my problem now is that the TD is about 75mm tall ( after ten days ) the O.K is about 40mm tall and obviously the SODK is yet to sprout.. am i going to have to ''pack'' the underneath of the pots with smaller plants to keep them at an even height with the light and stop the smaller ones stretching ?

Glad to be here hoping for some good tips and advice. only just read Oregon is allowing a 4 plant p/p grow thats fucking awesome ! i spent 6 months in eugene a few years ago travelling, loved the people. going back for a wedding next year so hopefully ill be able to meet some auto grow duck fans and sample some gardens!

off to tend to the babies !

Hi hank:)

Welcome to the mystical land of autos, great to have you as a member of AFN

Great intro bud, sounds like your having fun.

Auto have come on in leaps and bounds and it is great to see there are a number of seed producers who concentrate on just autos.

Mephisto and Dutch Passion strains, good choice there bro, they are some mighty fine gentics, your in for a treat come chop time.

We can do tips and advice no probs there, best thing is to start a journal in the new growers section. Let me give you a link - New Growers Forum just click the link. Post any questions you have in your journal and some one will drop by with an answer or two or if you need some help we will be sure to lend a hand.

Nothing beats a good read, so have a good look round, there are some amazing grows & growers in the forums with some very pretty plants that will just make you salivate.

The members here are second to none and their friendly attitude and helpful nature is what make the AFN vibe truly amazing.

Good to have you on board with us & happy growing

Hello Hank,

I thought it was pretty warm in NZ, but of course it is your Winter. Keep on plugging away, we are here to help. Best wishes for a fat harvest. Cool strains you chose !

eP.

:welcome: to the AFN Family, Hank!:toke: I don't think you'll be disappointed at all with today’s autoflowers. They are miles from where they used to be, and some strains yield very impressive harvests.
I'm high desert Oregon, and the countdown has begun! 5 and a half days:muahaha:. 4 plants per household, and 8 oz of dry bud.
I'm looking forward to checking out your grow journal. There's nothing like watching your babies grow up:photog:

Most mobile devices store exif data in the pics which includes gps data.

There a plenty of programs to use to get rid of it.

I don't use them though because I used a camera that doesn't have any way of logging gps etc.

Google remove exif data and you'll find a load of ways of doing it.

It's best to either set your resolution low when taking pick because there is a limit of file size which you can upload.

Or you can use a picture compression program such as File Minimizer.

If you have an HPS take pics just before lights on or just after lights off to avoid yellow pictures and with magnetic ballasts, those weird lines on your pics.

Uploading pic is easy, just drag and drop the pic into the reply box and select either thumbnail or full size, I like to go full size.

You can also click the Upload a File (bottom right of reply box) and choose the file to upload that way.

solid info mate confirms my suspicions pretty much cheers. i'll wait til i know i can get them up are but they've gotta come. after 14 days only the T.D is huge. its scary for 2 weeks after straight into pot. high times ahead ya'll.

quick strain edit. 1x TD, the other original i thought was Orange kush is actually 'Sour Crack' . and the newbie is the sodk. pretty amazing results after just 2 wks.

Good luck on your grow. So you're a Kiwi now? Sounds like you've got the right idea. Autos are the way to go, as members here agree. Glad you're here!
