Hey everyone, new grower here, recently got my medical card and everything else that I need to be in the green, just waiting on my beans! Have been wanting to do this for a looong time, and this site has been a great help in teaching me everything that I need to know (although I still have a ways to go). Will be posting a grow journal once I get things up and running, x4 Dedoverde Haze Auto from DR.Greenthumb under a 400w, trying to keep it small until I know what I'm doing.

Welcome to the Family, Skurge! :toke: Small is good for a first grow, it'll give you more time to focus on the little details that are sooo important!
Happy Growing! :greenthumb:

Hello chum,

what beans are you waiting on ? all the best , eP.

Hi Skurge

Welcome to then forums :welcome:

Great news on you getting your card!

Good to see you've been getting stuck in a learning from the forums, there's nothing like a good read and you never know what nuggets of info you might find, keep reading brother. I'll admit it, I also like looking at the pictures too lol, so be sure to send us some nice pics of your girls.

Good to know your planning a journal, the new grower section will be ideal for you, any questions you have about your grow will go in there and we will swing by in due course and lend a hand.

Here's a link for you - New Growers Forum

Not sure if you have come across this advice for Dedoverde Haze Auto by Dr. Greenthumb so I'll include it here, "It is good to add 30% of coco to the soil mix in order to improve oxygenation and thus optimize the overall development of the plant."

I look forward to your journal and wish you all the best with your grow.

See you in the forums

Thanks Arty (and everyone else), I actually didn't see that. I'm using Roots Organic soil and it says that it contains coco fiber, is this the same thing? I'm also using smart pots and doing a 75/25 Soil/Perlite ratio, wouldn't this be enough to keep the roots oxygenated? Still waiting on my beans, but I planned to prepare my soil today, pre soak with ph'd water, and check the PH in a few days to see if it really needs dolomite lime. Unless anyone around here knows with 100% certainty that I'll need to add the dolomite. Just got my tent setup last night and everything seems to be running good, so it would be nice to get all this out of the way now =]. Also, I plan to follow Tangs feeding schedule, and I believe roots is more "hot" than the plagron light mix that he uses, so I was going to take 1-2ml (per 5L of water) off of each stage early on to be safe. Should this be ok, or should I go with an entirely different feeding schedule? I've also been doing a lot of reading on how to properly mix nutrients to prevent binding or w/e, but I've been getting a lot of mixed opinions. Does the order in which I mix them not matter as long as I mix them well 1 at a time? I've seen some people say to mix base nutes first (using whichever contains phosphate first and then additives). Some clarity on this would be great =]

I understand this isn't the best place to be asking these questions, but I figure while we're here...
