I found a few of these bugs living in my plants. My quick search on google did not turn anything up so I figured I would ask the community. The bug i am looking at is grey and can hop if you disturb it too much. Its hard to get a good picture of them because they like to hide on the opposite side of the stem that i am on. There are maybe 2-3 on the plant, but I don't see any visible signs that it is harming my plant. I will try to post more pictures later when its not so hot

I don't know about that I'm a first-time grower doing my second run and I had fungus gnat problems in the beginning but I eradicated every one of them with that gnat mix so I don't have any problems with them now and I just use it religiously it's only $11 a bag and when I get done with my grow I recycle it cuz what I do when I do my next plants I take the recycle gnat mix I put a very thin layer of soil at the bottom of the pot then a very thin layer of the Recycled mix then the rest of my potting soil and then a thin layer on the top so if you ever have any fungus gnat problems promise you man it works and tell everybody else it works I don't use no chemicals or whatever that stuff is

And you don't have to do the bottom layer I do it because I noticed them going in the bottom when they or bad the adults so I just put the Recycled stuff down there anyhow that way if they do try to go in the bottom they're not going to get anywhere but dead I like I said I don't have any problem with them now I hear lots of people having problems with them and I took a shot with that knat mix from my hydroponic store recommendation and I put a stop to that

I would not worry too much about large bugs as these typically are predators and feed on smaller bugs that damage our plants. Unless you have holes in the leafs or what looks like browns freckles on the leafs your good. He is probably protecting your plant.

Hard to tell from the pic but it looks like a large lady bug larvae, does it look like an alligator insect with some spots on its back? If it is then your in luck, keep him/her around. Here's what the larvae look like...
