Ive ground plant materials in a meat grinder before, that would probably work well and you can change out the grinding plates depending how fine you want it. Even one that attaches to a regular kitchen aid mixer might work....
Never had to grind a pound, but if i did id bust out the Cuisinart and figure out which blade works best. My guess is a medium cheese grater would work well.
That was an excellent suggestion. It never occured to me but I bet that would work. My mother used to shred potatoes years ago with a screen type grater and it was hard to do and took along time. I did the potatos in the meat grinder and it was like 2 minutes. But she was so old school she dismissed my suggestion.
