Well, the agave nectar is a bust. The water in the res is fine, and I'm sure the plants like it, but the water still in my mix bucket that I typically use to top up the res is all cloudy. I guess bacteria loves agave nectar. I'll mix up a fresh 4 gallons tomorrow before I top off the res.
Anyone know if all of the sweetener additives do this? I am thinking about getting the Humboldt Honey, in particular, since I have had so much luck with the Humboldt nutes.. Perhaps I will just add it to the res every other top off.. It doesn't seem to have any problems if it is actually in the res with the bubbles, but I typically make enough to top off 2 or 3 times over the week and I guess the lack of air and movement really allows the bacteria to thrive. I had the exact same problem when I started using superthrive, and ended up just not using it at all.
