Epic cab dude! I'm glad to see your FIM was successful as well. It'll be interesting to see how it affects the rest of the grow!

The plants got really droopy after the res-change, and have been drooping ever since. The only things I can think of are either not enough bubbles in the res, or that I somehow screwed up the res change. I bought a bigger air pump today and installed it, and did a fresh res-change. I cleaned the res really good. The roots look fine, water temp was okay, not too hot in the cab, no smelly res, I am at a loss. I guess I could have accidentally doubled up on a nute solution and left one out... Like doing the grow twice instead of the bloom? I don't know. Hopefully the fresh res and increased air will pep them back up!!

Crisis averted!! A fresh emergency res change, and a second, more powerful air pump fixed the problem. I am SOO glad! They perked right back up overnight! I was freaking ALL THE WAY out.

Day 28:

After a near catastrophe(see the last 2 posts), I am ecstatic to report that the girls are doing great today! I have been waiting for Righty to get a bit taller to start her LST, and tied her down this morning. They still aren't showing sex yet. I expect it at any time. Here are the both of them.


Here is Lefty today.. Her branching is starting to get long enough to peek through. I am still doing some tucking here and there to get them going to the light. The stuff on the underside is starting to turn upward.


Here is Righty.. The FIM is really starting to grow more aggressively and take shape. Just LSTed today. Her branching is getting more developed .

FIM update- Day 9 after the cut:

It is showing more aggressive growth. This will be the last separate FIM update, as it is now developed enough that you can see it without the close-ups. We will now watch its development from the main updates.

Yes, it will be interesting to see how the fim works.
an experienced grower on a MJ how to site, grew her first auto doing only LST.
But her thoughts afterwards were that she would like to try fim as an alternative.
I don't know if any comparisons have been done.

faded187 fims them all the time with great results. I contacted him to pick his brain before I did it. I already see for sure that I will get 6 colas above the cut, but those are in the crotches where they would have formed anyway. It still isn't clear how many will emerge from the top-center of the cut, but it is definitely going to do something, as you can see above. It has chutes popping up all in it. Faded thinks 4 or more, which would make 10 colas total above the cut. We'll see what she looks like in 4-6 weeks. I like that she is side-by-side with an un-fimmed plant. That way we can see which one does more in identical conditions (same res).

whats up greens? you should have 10 colas all together, anywhere from 2 to 4 above the cut. by 10 colas I mean long spear lookin buds. you will actually have way more smaller side branch colas.but 10 good visible ones.
