Lighting Grow Diary. Three Afghan Kush Ryder and one Critical Cheese.

The AKR's are sticking their heads up :



I won't count it as day 1 until all three have the cotyledon leaves spread.

The Cheese has sprung a little tail in it's glass of water :



So it's now in damp kitchen towel wrapped in clingfilm until the tail is a half a centimetre or so.

Looking forward to some heavy Indica smoking

DAY 1 for the AKRs

Finally !

The Critical Cheese is in it's pot from this morning so should show in a day or two.

All of the AKR's are showing so it's day 1 for them



I'm using an Arduino and a DHT11 temperature/humidity sensor because i've found the cheap ebay hygrometers are wildly inaccurate and don't last long :



Here's the readout from the sensor :



Humidity is a bit low for this stage so i'm going to have to do something about that.

Just ordered a clipon fan to help strengthen the stalks and cool the air at canopy level.

I tested my flowering CFL and it is making a loud buzzing noise and doesen't look as bright as before so i have bitten the bullet and ordered an LED grow light!

120w Seven Band - Deep Red / Red / Blue / Orange / White / UV / IR LED Grow Ligh

Managed to get it on ebay for £130 from a reputable seller.

Very excited about doing an LED grow now that i've been reading about them for two years and watching the prices go down.

Another Critical Cheese grow!! I am 14 days into mine, it has been fraught with perils but a learning experience for sure. So I am subbed and will follow along with you. Here's to our critical cheese!!!

It's official - i'm stupid. The 'broken' LED is the UV one !

The dim one to the right is the IR one.

So no problems at all ...
