New Grower Grow Room Temp HELP

Sorry for the late reply, haven't been online for a while. Get a small dehumidifier from Argos or somewhere. About £25 for one.

If anyone is still looking at this, I face similar challenges. I grow in an outdoor shed. Its 20 degrees low at night. Using a 600 w. HPS light I manage to keep the temps at 60 to 75 degrees on those cold nights. Light stays on 24/7. I have closed off part of the shed by building one 4x5 section with plywood and a dark room 4x5 which I use the below heater in. This heater cranks,,,,80 degrees easily. The thermostat is tricky on this heater though. I recommend the garage grower build a room in the garage or buy a tent . CFL's wont help cold prob though. If you build a room, go at least 4x5 and 6 feet tall. call it your tool shed if anyone asks.

look at my album which shows my grow room I built with 2x4's and plywood. Replicate this in your garage

I run an outdoor grow box and have faced the same issues. I've tried a lot of different solutions and have finally hit on one that is keeping the temps where they need to be. I installed one of these on my exhaust fan. Quantem Wall Mount Variable Speed Controller - 110 Volt | QC Supply. This time of year my incoming air averages around 25 F at night. I have the controller set to 80 degrees and the fan speed to it's lowest setting. The fan runs very slowly, trapping most of the heat from my LEDs inside the box. When the temp exceeds 80 the fan speed will increase until it drops back down, then the fan slows again. I have a remote temperature sensor so I can monitor temps in the box from the house. My temps now vary no more than about 5 degrees. I do run a small space heater but have it on a timer so it only runs during lights out. The box is well insulated and LEDs generate enough heat during lights on that the heater isn't needed.

Agree with Muddy, the best bit of kit I've bought to keep temps up was my speed controlled fan (need to be careful with some add on controllers as 2 that I purchased from the UK caused a horrendous buzz from the fan)

I also have 2 60w heaters under the inlets that keep my space warm enough when lights out
