Hi, having a few issues with my tent. I will be making the grow tent out of MDF wood. I will only be growing 1 plant. Would I be able to grow more or is the light no powerful for more than 1 plant.

The grow tent will be 50x50x110. (might make it smaller)
CFL 125W Blue for Vegging
CFL 250W Red for Flowering
4 Inch PC Fan as the bottom intake for fresh air
Carbon filter blowing out of another 4 Inch PC Fan at the top.

Anything I am missing or getting wrong?

Advice needed.

Thanks.

Im using a dr40 tent 40x40x120 with a 100w hps.i think your good to go with that setup. Dont't know how hot that 250 cfl is going to get, so heat might be a issue. If your going with a hydro setup your hight might be a problem. But i say go for it :-)

No I wont be going for a hyrdo setup. Just a normal pot and and water.

Have I got the carbon filter fitted correctly?

Just wanted to know the way I have explained my carbon filter fitted is correct?

Also will a 4 Inch PC fan be o.k for air circulation?

Most carbon filters are rated with m3/h ore cf/m and the fan must be at the same rate to get it work proberly. Most filters are fitted so the fan suck air out off the filter. I fitted my filter so the fan is blowing into the filter. So it would work both ways.. but blowing air into the filter will also blow dust into it aswell. and that aint good, if your fan is at a lower m3/h than your filter. Your filter wont last as long as it should..but i think your good to go..
A 4" pc fan could be anything. but i don't think that is enough.
Peace

Well, I do not like small tents and I do not like small plants but if you do, that sounds just fine.

There will be quite enough light there, people try with 40 watts CFLs in small tends, not with 250w. How far is your bulb from ceiling? How much height will be allowed for your plants?
So be very carefull what strain you choose and in how big pots you plant. You had better go for small varieties and more plants, maybe 4 in smaller pots.

If you do not know how plants behave, it is hard to plan. If you go for one and put it in to big pot it might surprise you with height especially if you choose Northern Lights or something similar.

I think, but I am not micro grower, that more plants bring you more control over height and reduce the risk of breeding bad genetics. I always germinate 4 or 6 and there are always some of them that I would not like to have.
For example, I have 3 Royal Critical now and the worst is half weight of the best one but the tallest. All three have grown under exactly same conditions. If you go for only one, you might be very unlucky.

All sounds good. Ambient temps are important. Keep temps in check and you b good. I would make sure of air movement...4 inch is a bit small IMO. Don't overwater and let patience rule.

50 cm by 50 cm by 110 cm

For us imperialistic measuring cowboys:

19.7 inches by 19.7 inches by 43.3 inches

or

1 1/2 feet by 1 1/2 feet by about 3 1/2 feet tall.

You're working with 2.25 square feet floor space and 7.875 cubic feet of total grow space.

What are the dimensions of the CFL light? Does it have a dew guard or reflector?
What is the height of your pot or growing container?

Gonzo is correct with the size of the pot affecting the size of the plant; did you have a pot size picked out or that you are considering yet?

Without knowing some of these other variables, it would be difficult to be able to recommend more than one plant. More plants = more maintenance, there's no arguing there. Also, to respectfully disagree with Gonzo, I don't believe having more plants would give you any more control over the height of the plant than having just one plant in there. In fact, it could very well be quite the opposite depending on the particular phenotype that you get with the strain.

Limiting the size of the pot and using methods such as LST (Low Stress Training) would give you far more control over the height of the plant. If you haven't ordered your seeds yet, many seed banks will have details on the average height of the plants (short, medium, tall, etc.) That doesn't mean you can't try out a strain you really want; just know what it could be capable of (again, you can limit height with these other variables.)

Obviously factor in these details when deciding how many plants to grow, you need to go with what you feel safe and comfortable with, not what we feel good with. :karma Cloud:

As for your carbon filter, are you planning on doing a DIY filter? Store bought? Inline? Aquarium filter? Please give details! Can you find out the CFM rating of those PC fans? Or if you don't know; do they have a model number on them? Would be super easy to find out.

Would love to see some pictures of your equipment; even if you haven't built the box yet.

We'll get you setup bro, lots of good answers here already! :smokebuds: :karma Cloud:
