Indoor Growing Scrog

The Big Bend update:

Day 25:

Left for a day, and she sprung up over night! She's taking well to her new 6" Grodan, noticed a little curling so dialed the light back just a hair and decided today was the big day.

After, obviously

She's obviously not too happy with me right now, but she'll be fine. A (hopefully) good bend, and a baby's fist worth of a selective defol and we are off to the races!

I'm expecting her to start shooting pistols in the next week or so hopefully but time will tell since I'm not at all experienced with this strain.

Once again, any thoughts/comments/concerns are always welcome!

Shes fine, these autos are gluttons for abuse once they get past the seedling stage lol

This time around i have a 6” fan setup for the under canopy and 3x 4” fans above to regulate airflow. It will be substantillay more dense considering what my last scrog looked like a time of flip and how much it yuelded! Heres a little peek at my last scrog beginning and end this next one should exponentially more lolView attachment 1740844View attachment 1740845ssi am a little careful when scrogging with strains i dont know. M i alway leave some screen unfilledfor potential growth.3(899
Definitely a step up in the right direction mate, well done! :d5:

Solid choices to add more airflow in the tent btw  And very nice to see that vigorous growth with the new ladies.. cheers

I just found out about these wonderful grows from someone on reddit who also uses the technique with amazing results. I've been thinking about doing a scrog for a while now. I actually bought a net months ago and I don't even know where I put it 🤣. I'm a little apprehensive because I don't know how it's going to go in my setup. I grow RDWC and my plants get monstrous in size compared to the pictures I've seen in here. I'm scared there won't be enough net. Do you guys remove whole branches from the plant at any point during the process? am I ok in doing that if I follow this method?

This was my last grow that I just finished harvesting. Two mephisto wedding x grape walker kush in a 5x5. As you can see I'm not one who has ever defoliated in my life and my tent gets absolutely out of control. I had colas hitting the lights and growing past the lights just MADNESS and stress. I'm sitting here wondering how I would even get to the back of the plant to cut leaves off. I really want to try this method though so even if I have to send the wife in there on hands and knees with shears we're going balls deep with this method next grow for better or worse lol.

Any tips you all could give me for my situation would be seriously appreciated.

The 420method can be adapted for photos like you've been growing, that's probably why they're larger than the autos we're using for the "420 Method" in this thread.

The defoliation part can be labour intensive :nono: depending on the strain but 2lb dry weight in 2x4 is easily achievable in 100days or so without larf ;)

With regards to removing branches, that's always a possibility if you run out of space but I have not encountered that yet. I have chopped of bud sites and kolas though to make room in the frame..

Taller tent? 😁

You have a lot of internodal space (between the side leaves and branches), more than needed. A lot of plant energy has gone into useless wood/stems. Perhaps consider lowering or turning up the lights earlier in the grow to keep the plants shorter, more compact, get more levels of leaves and branches, and get more even light distribution to the plant (in sense that even though the plants are very open, the bottom levels simply get much less light due to distance). Growing horizontally with a net will get rid of these issues, but you'll be growing only a fraction of the no. of plants.

What yield did get with the 2 plants in the 5x5 tent that's shown? Do you expect yield in the same tent to be more or less if growing with the 420 method?
