Hey Folks,

I know people recommend using half strength nutrient solutions with autos, but does this apply to silica and calmag supplements as well? Anyone have any issues with using say, GH Armour Si and GH CalMag at full strength with their autos?

Good question....since no one has aswered I will try. You prolly already used them by now but oh well. I need to know also.
And I think using at half dose is fine. I read on the advanced nutrients site that the silica should be applied on its own. say 2.5 ml to a gallon of water.
I would also use the cal mag at 50% or less

What medium are you growing in?

I'm currently growing 2 autos in Fox Farms Ocean Forest. For the first 30 days, I was only giving my plants reverse osmosis water with 5ml each of Cal-Mag and Silica Blast given Ocean Forest comes heavily amended out the bag. The plants were growing like crazy, and then on day 31, signs of trouble emerged. Turns out the Cal-Mag led to a nutrient lockout and now I'm scrambling to see if I can save them.

Read this: https://www.autoflower.org/threads/a-word-on-nutrients.82004/, which includes info about Cal-Mag, and if you have questions, the author is super knowledgable and happy to share his knowledge if you comment him in or DM him. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. After much consideration, I decided it would be best to treat them like any other nutrient. For example, if I'm running the Advanced Flora Series at half-strength, I'm doing everything at half-strength, and not treating ArmourSi or Cal-Mag any differently. My justification for this, is that Cal-Mag contains some nitrogen (1-0-0) and ArmourSI contains potassium (0-0-4). If I start messing around with different strengths of Cal-Mag or ArmourSi, I'm throwing off the overall nutrient ratios of the feeds.
