The way I see this site is that you are people who are essentially funding the Ruderalis hybridization into the Sativa and Indica lines, because there is no doubt that due to the diversity of Ruderalis genes, there are some beneficial ones that can be used to further the domestication of cannabis, and not for the photo-period alone.

Apart from the photoperiod changes, what are some other traits that are gained by ruderalis crosses? And is anyone here growing 100% Ruderalis plants? Do people here ever do quasi-scientific studies on the Ruderalis subspecies? If not is that something people would be interested in doing?

If not, or what are some other purposes of this community? Why is this place based off of autoflowers? Is there just a different vibe to the people here compared to other big named forums?

I was a member of 2 other forums before this one and grew photo plants for many years. I just happend to stumble upon this site and started reading all the posts and knew that this was the place for me. the vibe here is much more chill than the other sites I was on and people are alot more eager to help. Needless to say
I am no longer a member of the other sites.

What got me into trying autoflowers was the small size of the plants and speed along with the high cbd in most autos. I feel that autos are more beneficial in the medical communtiy because of these traits.

from what I have heard 100% ruderalis has almost no thc so I dont assume many people would be growing these except for breeders of the original autos

While I cant answer all your questions, I will make a stab at your last.

Some of the bigger sites have a knack of instead of keeping their mouths shut and learning a little bit about auto-flowers see them as the joke of the plants. That said look about some of the other forums as proof.

Now these guys have been helping each other on a dedicated site sharing info and meeting and sometimes exceeding what photo's provide.

Autos are preferred by quite a number due to lower maintenance. Some due to space, and some, cause they well like a fast finishing plant. Some grow as a bumper crop, Some use them as a main crop. many knock what they cant fathom. In any regards....

Auto's get a bad name, and are by no means a bad thing or a good thing. Some get the notion they are a easier to grow plant. Looking around its easy to see you can ruin anything, and autos being short lived, require just as much time spent to them.

You have to account that autos do provide alot of options for a grower limited on space, demanding a less light obtrusive plant and such.

Now there are many growers in photo's and auto alike that cant even grow a hang nail without screwing it up. This said as with any plant, their are many a grower screwing them up as well.

Good luck on the rest of your search but hope I provided you info on why this network exists. A fast look through the forums you will see a ton of people here willing to help each other through a grow, or giving info, just as I have with you.

Auto Pros over Photos-
Longer light cycles means more bud in a shorter period
Heard CBD is higher as evol stated, don't know if that's true personally
Great for shorter grow rooms and seasons

Auto cons-
Seems to be much more sensitive to transplant shock and effects it much more dramatically considering it's lifespan
Seems to be much more sensitive to nutrient shock during early development

This site was first developed, I'm sure in a big response to all the slander that was against autos during the early development. Many would bash them, even though they never had grown them. It was ridiculous. Way too much mis-info about them due to poor growers not a poor plant as well as under-developed seed that was getting thrown around.
The site has become probably one of the best canna sites around for real people and over-all niceties.

Hey there,
This site has represented as a community of like minded people from all over the globe who wish to grow help others grow share info knowledge of autos, and ensure everyone succeeds at growing for whatever their purpose.
I love autos for the fact that they generally are smaller plants therefore smaller growing space is fine, try growing a photo in a PC.
I have read on this forum anything from botantical info supporting the use of CBS and thc for the treatment of many different medical conditions but the one thing I pick up on the most is the genuine help that is offered and support that everyone gives around the place.
Even when I have posted ridiculous info (that has been successful for me) I have never been shouted down, there is always someone willing to give you some likes or credit.
A very rewarding and useful site that I am honoured to be a part of.
