Hi everyone, glad i found you!

I have a small guerillaqrow going with 10 plants and 5 different strains and its all looking great!
The problem is i did not plant them all at once so they are all in somewhat different stages now and i expect to harvest them all in a 5-6 week span.

So the question is, you think i can just chop the early ones down and put straight in the freezer until i have harvested all plants?

That way i could start the drying and curing process for all plants at once. It would really make my life easier that way due to lack of time and the place where i intend to dry them.

Thankful for any info or tips

I have frozen buds to delay the finishing process, but this was after they were a fair way along the drying process. I just couldn't finish things off before leaving home for a while. As far as I can tell, this worked fine, although due to my inexperience, I still managed to dry them too quickly.

I would be reluctant to freeze fresh bud and then start the drying process later. The freezing and then thawing of fresh buds may leave them very wet and raise the risk of mold. If you do go this way, I would separate the buds and plan on drying them on screens rather than hanging whole branches. Ideally, dry them at least partially to get rid of water before putting them in the freezer. Just my two cents, I will be interested to hear from others.

Ok, thanks for the input!
Guess ill try trimming them down and let them dry up for 24h before putting them in the freezer then, hopefully all goes well.

I'm not a fan of freezing fresh bud! We had a bad experience once and lost some to mold. Now shake on the other hand freezes well. After all your not going to smoke it.

I believe @Growtogrow freezes his bud per his beautiful outdoor grow journal.
Hey there folks  :bighug:
So this is how I do it to avoid any kind of mold issues.

Ive been doing this a good long while with NO problems ever. With over 1000 pouds+.
In 1# ,1/2#, 1/4#, as little as 1oz storage units.

This is how to long term store your weed. That will be fresh as the day you (would've) put in the curing... jar , brown bag , or how ever you like to finish curing your freshly dried weed.

#1
I trim plants and de-bud the branches. Or dry on the branch
And then de-bud and finish trim.

#2
Now your dry to snap a stem or 56%to 65% humidity in the weed.
And now your to the point where you would now normally move to your favorite curing process for finishing your awesome freshly dried bud. ie. Jar, brown bag, what ever you like.....

#3
Vacuum bag for Long term freezing storage.

So now instead of going to the jar or brown bag or whatever you like to finish curing your weed in.

Instead now we're going to stick your ready to cure weed in the

FoodSaver freezer bag.

And we're going to vacuum bag that weed to just about the point where it crushes down on to the product
(but stop it just before so not to crush it and start the sealing process)....

#4
Now you are ready to Stick the ready vacuum sealed product in your freezer.

For how ever long you want.

I've went as long as 11 months. I could've went much longer. But I needed the last of my product. Or it could've stayed there for year's.

#5
Retrieving and thawing out your Frozen vacuum bagged product.

This is important when retrieving your Frozen bag.... try not to bang it around a lot.... Then ( Let it sit and thaw out still sealed )for about 30 minutes or until it's thawed out.

#6
At this point open the FoodSaver freezer bag. And put on a cookie sheet or sreen for 30 minutes.
And then move to your favorite curing process..... jar, brown paper bag, sun curing, Mmm me like sun dry Mmm mm..
But you get the point.

Any Q&A
Just give me a shout.

Growtogrow

Just got my vacuum sealer yesterday. The weed I grew last Summer is dried and been curing in jars for 8 months. It all seems to have reached a nice mellow smoke and has remained at 62% rh. Can I take it out of the jars, vacuum seal and freeze at this point? No way I'll ever use up 1 1/2 pounds I still have and I don't want it to go to waste. If it comes down to it I will turn it into hash and vacuum seal it but I don't have the time to do that right now.

Sure ..Doug... Just Do the same as 3,4,5,... It'll last for year's...the 6 but just the screen or cookie sheet to finish drying a bit before jaring.

The big thing is not to bang it around a lot. So not to knock off a bunch of trikes while it's Frozen.

I use the 62% Bovado paks in my jars.
