Hey folks, sorry for another "noob" question but one of the responses i got to another question has my thinking. Is the yellowing of leaves toward the end of a plants life is the definitive time to harvest or is this subjective eg. what you want from the plant in terms of effect. I have to admit I'm geting a little itchy to harvest at about nine weeks ( judging by trichs ) becuase I want more of an up high ( if this will even happen )

pics would be a good start.. yellowing can be a differences in deficiencies including cal and nitrogen, unless you are at flushing stage then yellowing of the leaves is a good thing as this indicates that plant is pulling the last bits of food from the leaves :)

i would harvest when the plant is ready :eye: :eye: my signature "life cycle of autoflower"
do not harvest because it has been "9 weeks" and the seed banks description is ready @ "8 weeks" -- always go by the plant

this could include the yellowing of the leaves/swollen calyx/receding pistils + turning different colors (from white >> orange / red etc.) and ofcourse the trichomes.

if you want an energetic/up high -- i suggest picking a SATIVA dominant hybrid and harvesting @ cloudy/clear trichomes (with little to no amber)
if you want couchlock high -- i suggest picking up a INDICA dominant hybrid and harvesting @ milky/cloudy trichomes (with amber @ around 5%-20% +/-)

you have any pic? would love to see the plant :D

goodluck with the harvest decision

I will try to get some pics tomorow. im currently growing ak47

My two cents oooopsy pence don't chop not ready in my opinion .
Calyxs far from receding if anything it's heading to the finish line .
All your leaves are pure green also the pistils reaching for the sky and quite white.
My amateur opinion good luck crossman

Thanks man< sometimes it seems easy and sometimes not so much

What happened to the plant?

Muddy is the king of this and posted a lot about it. You've got at LEAST a week, probably two, the buds get fat fat at the very end as that's all the plant has left to do patience will pay off, break off and dry a lower crappy bud if you're losing your mind waiting haha. The large fans will go very yellow pretty uniformly all over then you're in the home stretch. It's time to harvest when the small bud leaves start to go yellow. I actually think I just went too long on a grow because I started seeing the calyxs going brown and it's the worst looking bud I've ever grown, but I'm experimenting as to if that is a too late indicator or not.
Cheers
