After talking with a m8t who is a avid gardener, food and the other, said to me to utilise the weed that is taking over my friends front lawn, Dandelion. He also told me of another,,, - Valerian. After doing some Goog, lin I found these quotes on them,,

Valerian - Source of minerals and phosphorus

"Valerian helps to concentrate phosphorus in the plant and this in turn aids with the plants capacity to attract light in the photosynthesis process. It stimulates the phosphate activity bacteria in the soil. Valerian deals with the forces from Saturn."

Dandelion (Flowers and Leaves) - NPK, minerals, immune boosting properties, used in Bio-Dynamic farming to help plants 'tune in' to the enviroment and draw nutrients or needed minerals where they are needed.

"Dandelion gives the soil a living, ethereal quality with the ability to supply the substances a plant needs. It increases a plants sensitivity and helps it to attract beneficial elements from a wider area. Dandelion works strongly with silica and potassium and, via silica, draws in forces from the outer planets, particulary Jupiter."

Txt in "QUOTES" was taken from - //cityfoodgrowers.com.au/biody_...eB7RCzlHYx-gCf

I'm going to steep some Dandelion and give it a go just wondered if any one had used Valerian. ??

I have also been looking into dandelions and am planning on using the flowers in a bloom nutrient recipe. Also going to do some other experiments too.

Interesting. I've always eaten dandelion but had never heard of it being used in this manner. I love an early spring bitter salad with dandelion, cress and onion tops. If you're looking to grow it yourself for your projects, look at French dandelion. It's easy to grow, grows quickly and had longer and wider leaves than wild. However, being a cultivated variety it may not contain the same beneficial properties as the wild. I'll be interested to see how it does for you.

Ta for your input lads, I've just given my babes there water this time I steeped a load of dandelion leaves and flowers in hot water for 3 hrs added there dose of PM silica to this and gave them that. Will let you know of any extreme changes,,

On a side note some cats go CRAZY over velarian. It seems a more potent herb for them than catnip, but like cat nip not all cats are effected.
