Hi everyone basically I have a small temp and humidity monitor in the side of one of my pots when I checked last night it had fallen on to one of my 5 day old seedlings and squashed it I removed the sensor and stood the plant back up my question is have I just killed this seedling or will it still grow :/ what signs should I look for to tell if it is dieing or not

Thank you in advance for your replies

Well if it stays green, the leaves keep their shape or if there's any growth at all, I'd say she'll bounce back.

A picture might be helpful.

Depends on how badly you damaged it. If it was creased you may be able to fashion a split of sorts using a small strip of wood and some twist ties. Support it so that it remains upright and be careful not to make the twist ties too tight. You'll know in a day or two if it takes.

Oh man!
I hate when I do stuff like that to myself. Hopefully it will bounce right back. One of the things I have done successfully is to lightly mound up a bit of soil around the stalk/stem area. His may work well if it bent right at the base. Add Muddy's excellent suggestions and if it's going to make it, this should fix you up.
Peace and happy growing.

Hi guys thanks for all your answers here's a couple of snaps of how she looks now bearing in mind this happened 26 hours ago now uploadfromtaptalk1405114454444.jpguploadfromtaptalk1405114469444.jpg

If that's 26 hours after, I would think you are safe and she'll be fine and all the stronger for it.
Have a :slap: for a job well done!

If there had been the child health care center for seedling I had been loyal customer there after all my mistakes with the little ones :)

but your seedling appears to feel good :)
Good luck with her and remember that she is special now :) :)

Sincerely, BB

Might even make her stronger like supercropping does. If it creased and broke some of the inner cells it will form a knot and be strong as could be, although it might take it a few days to recover and start growing again.
