Hi

Ive switched over to hesi nutrients for my current grow and i am struggling a little.

The chart is mixed to 10 liters this amount was to much for the amount of plants so i cut this in half and worked the measurements out to 5 liters after this each bottles amount seemed high to me. so I started everything at 1ml per liter

Pre flowers have just shown in the middle of week 6 two more weeks before switching to bloom nutes so on the grow atm. then be following the 8 week chart.

Started off

Wk 1 >100ml a day just ph`ed water at 6.5
wk 2 > 200ml a day just ph`ed water at 6.5

Plants growing great everything green and happy!

wk3>

The first signs of yellowing. Just like my last 2 grows this year always around the start / end of week 3

Upped water to 300ml per night and this has stayed this way ever since. Started by feeding 1ml of everything (clone strength) to 1 liter, split this 3 ways, then 6 days water. ph 6.5

wk4

The plants are growing okay but the leaves still showed signs so 1 feed again and 6 days water. ph 6.5

wk5

New growth is green, again 1 feed 6 days water. only added in a tablespoon of epsom salts. but now the newer / older fans leaves are yellowing.

Right still with me, up to date now :smoke:

Okay i am now at the end of wk6

I mixed up the full grow strength to 10 liters to check the Ph as mixing 1 liter at a time has left the ph around 7.3 and needing adjusting. Its ph was 6.8 and over the last 7 days has only risen to 7.3 so no more phing

Daily feeding this week with un phed feed water has not caused any issues so far its just the same problem for each plant.

Its a phosphorus deficiency for sure

Now is my soil lacking this? next time should i amend my soil? as each grow so far has resulted with theses issues. I have added lime, last grow 2tbs per gal this time 1 tbs per gal but again same issues.

Why? what to do?

I have the full range of hesi nutes so should i just keep to the feeding chart and forget ph`ing from now on? I plan to switch to the flowering feed guide in 10 days that abe 2 weeks since preflowers showed then 8 weeks flower

I have had this issue now with hesi, biobizz & plantmagic. this grows ph spot on, a good meter used. lime added and should have started to work in 6 weeks? This can only lead me to think there is not enough in the soil? would the hesi phosphorus plus help as this has gone unused so far, I also have the hesi boost which i will use in 10 days.

I dont know what to do, i have tried to adjust things slowly over 7 days at a time before thinking of asking for some advice as the problem wont go away and now the new growth that was green 3 weeks ago are starting to yellow. same as the leaves today will be slowly yellowing in 2/3 weeks time.

Here is the chart that I am following

did i read right ? you give plain ph water 6 times and nutes just once in 7 days

You read right archie

Plants were only 3/4 weeks old (at the time) feeding once a week is enough to keep them green and happy. My soil should be enough they dont need it, and i would not have started to feed anything had they stayed green least not in till they started to flower.

I have tried to fix the issue myself but slowly over a week at a time. little feed see reaction, little more and so on. only this week have i feed every night (7 days) in a row just to see how the plants reacted.

Only the problem is not going away. :slaps:

Anyone have any suggestions?

This is the only issue each plant is showing. Has happened now on every grow I have done this year.

Hi Organic, I think you might want to give nutes more regularly than once a week. If the plants are depleting the phosphorus component in the nutes before 7 days pass (which sounds likely), then you'll always be chasing the deficiency. If they were mine, I'd give them some extra P (not sure your nute brand..) with a couple feedings within the week. If you're confident that your soil is rich, then split the nute measure between 2 feedings. But, definitely add a P boost, which should show some improvement to the plants within a few days. If that works, continue to boost P for a week or so, to ensure its under control.
I ran into a similar issue with my current Blue Velvet grow- I let the Nitrogen get weak, thinking the soil would carry the burden, but I've had to chase the N def for the entire grow. In hindsight, I should have boosted the N as soon as I noticed the lighter leaves. Lesson learned...
Very best to you!!

waximus

I have a bottle of hesi phosphorus plus, (un-opened) but as yet the feed chart has not called for it. And i am unsure whether to start adding this or not? Am hoping for there to be an experienced grower who has used this nute line for a while.

Although i have tried other brands of nutes, yet still the same problems. my water ph is fine which only leaves one thing connecting each plant

My soil

I though adding the lime would work if it is a ph soil / root issue...

or

there is just not enough p in my soil to start with and I need to add a p only additive to my soil before i start. This way i maybe able to go longer without bottled nutes

This is the chart it seems to be missing from my first post

While I've not used that nute brand, if you feel that its phosphorus, then adding the P+ won't hurt, and will definitely show the plants card on it. I've often doubled my N in my grows, and no negatives from it, so long as it was an N issue. (I DID have a purple kush go Loden green on me once... It was on N overload, for sure lolol)

I have just changed the water and added the 25ml of PP to the mix and the ph is spot on at 6.5 I will feed this for the next 7 days and see what happens. as the new growth is green and atm happy

So that will only leave my soil if the new growth today is yellow in a week or two as I would have been feeding the above.

Looking at them tonight the leaves that are yellow would not be to bad to lose, (lst) but i dont want this for the next 2 months. more and more white hairs every day no real bud formation yet. So theres time to fix it.

just how if feeding for next week does not work.
