I live in south Europe. Normally the temperature this year has been less then 25 degrees, however today it reached 31 degrees. When I went to check them on them this night I noticed that the leaves where bent upwards into a V stemming for the vein running down the leaf. They had plenty of water when I checked on them tonight. My plan is the keep growing them on my balcony where they receive 14 hours of direct light. I can't install any shade for this grow, however for my next grow I'm thinking of installing a 0.5x0.5 cm netting above them to reduce the intensity of the sun, but not block it or shade it completely. I'm also thinking of adding some rhino skin from AN for my next grow. Is there anything else I can do for my autos. They don't seem to like the sun that much after today, but I don't want to shade them too much to reduce their growth rate.

31c is nothing for a pot plant ... hopefully they have ventilation ... a good hot day can bring about a reaction but it shouldn't hurt the plant ... I've done grows where the temp seldom dropped below 31c. even after dark. Good luck and remember a picture is worth a thousand words ...

The two photos in the dark are the ones I just took tonight after the heat struck, the one in the day time is how they normally are. Thank for your reply, the fact that autos can sustain over 30 degrees is reasuring, I've read that they don't like it above 26 degrees.

That would be badass balcony grow :D I think your plants are healthy, nothing serious to worry about :) what strains are they ?

I should mention, the closest 3 are DP's Think different which were started a week before the first of April, the back 3 are bag seeds, I call them Albanians because that's most probably where they originated (photo sensitive plants) and where started late July and the two on the left are amnesia and super silver haze (again photo sensitive) were planted the same time as my TD.

sometimes the sun will cause a plant to 'recoil' and lessen the amount of surface exposed ... this generally happens when they do not have a sufficiently well developed root system to provide the amount of water that heat and sunlight are evaporating ... also ... if the floor of the balcony is HOT and your pots are sitting directly on it ... you need to raise them up a little ... roots need to be kept as cool as possible ... black pots in the sun on a hard surface that may be as much as 100*f can create problems ... they look great ... I'd love a chance to grow in 26c* or cooler ... what plants like and what they get is often very different ... only the 1st pic opened for me ... I use Silica Blast for heat stress ...
