Ha Har that got ya , what the hell is sea soil I here you say ,
Right pull up a stump light ya cone and read on . So soil is something I like to understand . Now where I live [ Tropics ] there is no real good soil around ,the places I do know I do not want to be shot getting it . So what can I get . Hardware store soil and that is it . Now as I love the beach and get drift wood and fish from there and while I was down there I was seeing clumps of [Things] don't know what you call them . But they come out of the fresh water rivers that have been washed down after the wet season , all the little bit's of matter and it would start right at the top of the little streams that drain into the main river which ends up at the river mouth . [ rain forests ] And yes I hear you say what about the salt .
Well here is what I did , I collected it before the wet season , but you can't leave it in a clump so I broke it up by hand and screened it to let the rains flush it , now at first I wet it and did a ppm and ph
4.2 ph and 2700 ppm[salt ? ] . Bugger - so what do I do add lime [ Dolmite ] oh and after the rains I ended up with a ppm of 70 . The lime has been in for about 3 weeks I was not to sure how much to put in but it lifted the ph . Texture - Feels very lite in the hand and when wet is not heavy at all , reminds me of coco coir , now you may think why bother at all , I say why not , it is there and part of getting it , tunes you into where you live and gives you a understanding of soil , ---- BUT -- You old farts know that . --- Now I may be wrong here , but I think the more you understand how your soil works before the seed is put in the better the out come of the grow . I have said this before , even if you live in a big city , go to one of your parks and sit there and watch the trees and plants around you and tune into them . I do not worry about yield , that will come in time . Ok sorry guys went a bit off track there , sea soil , in the photos you will see a tomato plant , that is the sacrificial lamb , I tested it first , now so far it has no feed at all and I will not feed it to see how far it will go , also in the other photo is to bag seeds , and I will do the same thing . Ok am I wasting my time - who cares - Learning -
