Hello Everyone,

Well I haven't grown in more than a decade and when I did last grow it was bagseeds that I basically just watered, gave the occasional nutes, killed the males and harvested, all outdoors. Now I know I could've done alot better but with the little work I put into them I was able to produce some of the best bud available in my area. Not sure if thats a testimony to my green thumb or just tells you how bad the cannabis scene is in my area lol.

Anyway after the long break from growing(and smoking) I decided to do some research before starting back up. I started with the intent to do an organic indoor grow of some bagseed to get started. Well thats when I realized autos had come a long way since I last read about them. At this point I'm fully convinced that autos are the future of cannabis. i mean why spend almost a year growing a tropical sativa when, with some proper breeding, you can get the same end result in only a few months.
Now I plan on starting my first grow with either some sour 60 or a mix auto seed pack to start and at some point would love to start making my own autos.

Now that I've told you all a little about myself, I hope to learn from all the great members here and even get to know many of you.

Hey, J. You have come to the right place. I have only been growing for about 8 months and I have had two harvests, the first was three plants, and the second 1 plant. I had to go without for a few years because of a relocation to another State and it is very nice to have some smoke now and not have to worry about dealing with others. If you are just growing for yourself in a small space then Autos are the only way to go. Also, IMHO if you are 6 plants or less you might consider going LED if you do not already a different light.

I would like to hear about your set up and if you have any questions there are plenty of ppl here that are willing and more than able to help.

Welcome to AFN, J! sounds like you have a plan in place to get you where you want to be! We can help get you there, if you need it. Yes, autos have come a long way! There are documented cases of autos in the 22% THC range, that are not sativa, but Indica! Here is "the lifecycle of an autoflower" to help with getting the most out of them. Most strains say 60-70 days, but in all honesty, 80 days are optimal, unless they stress a certain timeframe. Glad to have ya here and if you need any help at all. give us a shout! :peace:

Hey J
Welcome! I'd suggest that you take a look at several grow journals posted on the site. It will help you decide what type of grow you would like to do, as far as grow space, soil, or no-soil, lighting (I'd also suggest LED), seed strains, etc.

Here's a link to my journal from when I first started here. I refer back to it when I grow now, to remember all the mistakes I made! :slaps:https://www.autoflower.org/f44/lowryder-2-grow-seed-smoke-19648.html
There are many grow journals better than this! But posting a grow journal was a great way to learn, and share the fun with others. I'd highly recommend that you also do a grow journal. Welcome to AFN!:goodluck:

Welcome to the AFN family, J!:tiphat: Looks like the Peeps have given you the good welcome word :) Looking forward to your grow journals, and happy to help, if needed.
Best to you! :Sharing One:

Icky,

at last. I just knew you would sign up. And now here you are. Welcome to our fun house. Anything you need, just shout.
Enjoy my friend.

eP.

Hey and Welcome!
Oh I see you know eP! Well I wouldn't let that be known... You know you could be judged by the company you keep and, well, you know..

In all seriousness, I love eP as a brother and as such feel a good dig at the right time is only justified. I am glad you found us and I know you will be too. There are many talented growers and lot's of just good folk too.

Looking forward to seeing you about the place.
Peace and happy growing.
